True to an extent, but not completely...
The problem is that there are different sorts of Shi'a. Those on the Iran side are 'Usuli; those on the Arab side--including Iraq--tend to be of a different branch, the Akhbari. There are Arab 'Usuli Shi'a, but the proportions vary in the different countries and the exact numbers are really unknown.
The Akhbaris do form the majority of the population of Bahrein. They are also probably a majority in Iraq, where Al-Sistani is their leader. But Al-Sadr is 'Usuli, taking his order from Iran. Hence the warfare between them.

Interesting, thanks for the feedback. I'm just starting to get acquainted with all the differences. Presumably, though, the differences between Shias are less than the differences between Shia and Sunni? I shall be reading your blog for enlightenment!

I find painting it red is confusing.......I have an atlas which had much of the world painted red to symbolise the introduction of the civilising influences of the British Empire..................but I note from your map that these regions play no cricket !
