One of the things that I find admirable about Palin is her refusal to sling mud at people...
Really? Really? Are you -- and pardon the expletive, but it is totally appropriate -- fucking kidding me?! Have we not been listening to the same person? Is the Governor Palin broadcast in the United Kingdom some sort of doppelganger?

GWEN IFILL: But I just wanted to ask you, do you support capping carbon emissions?
PALIN: I do. I do.
Where is the mud-slinging in what you have just quoted?
The two aren't connected. Just kind of a general -- WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU?
It was the non-mud-slinging Sarah Palin who constantly repeated the refrain that Obama "pals around with terrorists" - a reference to one individual who was a radical in Chicago in the 60's, when Obama was 4 years old and not even living in Chicago.
The idea that Palin was a crusader against the Corrupt Bastards Club is a right-wing myth - she was very much the protoge of Ted Stevens. At the very least her relationship with the Alaska power establishment was complex - it was more a case of her jockeying for position within it than opposing it.
There is much more I could say but it's midnight, my brain is fried and she isn't worth the effort.
