I've never tasted an artichoke - I'm not entirely sure I've ever seen one either!

Yes, and I have a confession to make -- while on the phone with certain people who may or may not happen to call during meal times (not that they would know, since we have no discernable schedule to speak of in my house...) I sometimes surreptiously chomp while listening. These are just not good foods for stealth eating.

Oh,I haven't had Zapp's in years. After we moved from New Orleans to California I had to have a case shipped in every month for my son,lol! He's back in California now (I'm in Hawaii) and he hasn't mentioned them lately. Maybe he can get me a bag!

I love artichokes too, I've just never been brave enough to try to cook one myself!
Be brave, Lynne! I want to meet the guy who FIRST decided to try these giant thistles at all -- he must have been very hungry ad very determined! Really, it isn't difficult at all, if you have a microwave you trust. Just leave some water in the artichoke when you wash it (don't drain it dry) and rub it down with lemon. Yum!
