Thanks for stopping by, leave your mark!

Gravatar It is so funny to hear about your mashed potatoes, gravy and peas concoction! When I was a wee one, I would "improve" the flavor of my mashed potatoes by stirring in my peas! I've never heard of anyone else doing such a thing! I feel a kindred potato spirit with you!

Last week at the grocery store I saw some lovely baking potatoes and planned a whole meal around them! It had been ages since we had baked potatoes with "the works"...Heaven!

This week I am making pot pies from scratch. My husband says he loves my homemade pie crust so much that he could eat one with gravy and nothing else! Not quite the healthy meal I'd like to serve... But I'll take it as a compliment!

I'm with you on the veggies...fresh whenever possible or frozen. I blame canned vegetables for people generally not liking vegetables...YUCK! Your exceptions are the same as mine.

I have never made a pot of chili that I was completely satisfied with...can't get the seasoning to suit me.

Your meme was fun and I guess I had lots to share. Thanks!

Hey! Thanks for stopping by, Gina. The mashed potato-gravy-peas thing works with rice, too. My mom and I always talk about just making a casserole like that. That reminds me, at the grocery today, I got a pretty chuck roast to pot roast, better make sure I have some peas!

Gravatar I curse the invention of Easy Mac. The original wasn't that hard, but I guess it was hard enough to keep me from eating it every day.

Mmmm...mashed potatoes...

Yup. Like we don't have all MINUTE...

Gravatar Thanks for playing Four Foods on Friday!

Gravatar Oh, Elle. This is one thing I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you. PEAS in MASHED POTATOES? Oh my. I have a major thing about anything but gravy in my mashed potatoes. I love them, don't get me wrong. But I can't put corn or peas into my potatoes. I need to keep them separate! I think it's a texture thing.

I have a recipe for mac n' cheese which is one of those old-fashioned baked versions, but it actually has tofu in it along with everything else!! I know that sounds gross, but you can't actually taste it. I found it in a vegetarian cookbook and can type it up for you if you're interested. Shoot me off an email, if you wouldn't mind. Thanks!

Do you have the some things on the plate can't touch other things? My hubby doesn't have that, but he does eat one thing at a time, around the plate. Oooh, mac and cheese. I'll try anything. I'll email ya. Thanks!!

Gravatar if my mom has mashed potatoes on her plate, you can bet everything else on her plate is getting stirred in with it!

Yummm! A woman after my own heart.

Gravatar I mix everything on my plate with my mashed potatoes too!

We are legion! Thanks for stopping by, Blair.

Gravatar I do that with mached potatoes too, but only when I'm eating at home and alone. Yes, I care about how other would react if they saw me doing it! :D

Well, now you know that there are a lot of us in the club, so feel free to mix away, in public! By my count (unscientific little corner of the world) we're at least 51% of the population. Mashed potato mixers, stand proudly and stir!!

Gravatar I don't know about low fat, but we make lower fat macaroni and cheese around here. We boil the noodles, drain 'em, and add a little fat-free half-and-half. Stir til it's hot, then toss in a handful of shredded colby-jack cheese and a little parmesan. Stir that up, but not too much. It's yummy when some of the cheese shreds stay soft, but not completely melted.

Yum, sounds good. I'll try it!
