I don't "party" (on account of most parties have people present), but I do eat leftovers, so please double future recipes. I'll wait in the basement 'til the folks are gone.
I promise if you're there, it will only be nice people who you will love, or at least love to get drunk with and then beat at scrabble. (oh, wait, that might be me...) And no, no basement (no underground to speak of in the swamp...)

Hey! Have you tried our common boyfriend Alton Brown's recipe for hummus?? I couldn't get enough of the stuff when I was in college. I remember playing Roller Coaster Tycoon and inhaling mass quantities of tortilla chips dipped in hummus. I would love to have it again, but it's got peanut butter in it. Gahhhh.
You can see the recipe here.
That looks yummy, I'll have to try it. I do really like mine, I adapted it from a Cooking Light recipe years ago. No peanut butter!

This makes me itchy to throw a casual party for family. My husband hates cake, if you can believe that, so we'd probably have brownies or something. Yes, I know. Brownies are practically cake, but for some reason, those are okay.
My specialty dish is macaroni and cheese salad: lots of chopping but SO GOOD!
that sounds really good! I can hang with chopping.
So Dave doesn't do cake, you ought to sneak in some black bean brownies on his butt. Amazingly good. (I promise, I'm not being compensated by the black bean council or something for the ringing endorsement...)

I need to try someone else's home made hummus. So far, it is not on my list of favorite things.
Oh, Karen, it's good if you like smoky, lemony, garlicky dippy-textured things, on a warm pita triangle or tortilla chip or even a celery scooper... oh, I may have to make some right now.

I like the idea of adding artichoke hearts. Sounds yummy!
Yes, added that interpretative move last T'giving, very good.

red velvet for realism...lol
Yup, nothing like a pack of squealing five year old boys, cutting into the dinosaur's belly and seeing guts. The oohing, the ahhing, the feigned disgust. They love it!

I've been hearing a lot about hummus lately. I'll have to pass this on to my group of friends who've been talking about it.
