Gravatar Oh don't misunderstand Milehigh - I totally agree with you. What I am suggesting though is that if time and energy is at a high premium, Catholic readers would be better off limiting themselves to certain parts of the blogosphere.

Meredith, I just can't imagine anyone criticizing your blog - ever!!!

Gravatar I feel the opposite - the Internet is a public place. What you write online, you might as well have said to the checker at WalMart.

Unless a site is password protected... and ESPECIALLY if there are ads/sales pitches on the site, obviously they're audience is PUBLIC!

Gravatar Very interesting question! If they ever hold a Catholic women's blog conference, sign me up.

I naturally shy from controversy. Unlike you, I am not a fierce apologist and tend to unsubscribe from blogs which would even raise the question you asked.

However, as a blogger I, too, receive criticism and have even been called sinful for routine homekeeping posts!

I don't mind this when the comment comes from a trusted reader, another Christian, in an iron-sharpening-iron kind of way.

But I do think it does more harm to the cause than good when it comes clear out of the blue or in a harsh tone.
