YIPPEE I got them back. I had to go into the profile folder and delete some files, specifically extensions.cache and extensions.rdf, but after I did that and then reopened Firefox - they were all back!! Thank goodness!!!

That's weird. My Firefox updated too, and it is fine.

And, after hearing your experience, I am very grateful for that because I hate.hate.hate IE.

I've never used any of the online bookmark sites; I should try them though, considering your upgrade experience. Nothing I have bookmarked is life & death and I could probably dig up anything I wanted again, but it would be a huge time waster. And then there are those obscure sites I've bookmarked that I don't visit often, but it's great to have them when I want them...only I don't remember their names, etc...they're just "oh, I remember that one site..." and I browse my bookmarks.

That was a lot of rambling to say sorry you lost them all.

I tried deli.co.so.idunno and just didn't "get it". I do see you posting your Diggolets, though. I'll have to look into it!

Although I was forced to download FF3 and my bookmarks didn't disappear!

I backed up the most important ones on my blog, though.

Try Safari out. There's a version for Windows, and it will import your bookmarks (provided they haven't been deleted!) from IE when you start it up. Plus, it runs faster than IE even dreams of. Even on my pokey PC, I was surprised to see how fast it was! It has a tabs feature, too, and you can save groups of favorites as one to open it as a set. (Did that make sense?)

Anyway, Safari might be a nice replacement for Firefox, and is worlds better than IE. (You can get the free download here.)

Oh, I'm so glad you posted this! I love Firefox and detest IE. This morning I had the option to update but being the impatient soul that I am, clicked "Later".

I'm going to back up the most important of my 40 bazillion bookmarks right now!

BTW, do you know of a web based bookmarking site so I can get my bookmarks from anywhere?
