Dude, whats on yer mind?

Gravatar Absolutely gorgeous. How I wish I was on your gift giving list.....drool...

Drew: Don't you mean Drewl? LOL - I crack myself up...

Anywho...

Thanks Sue!

Gravatar I love the scarf. You are so creative and talented. I am a little jealous........heheheh

Have a great day and keep the gorgeous creations coming.

Drew: Thanks Melissa! I'll do my best!!

Gravatar OOoh...alpaca....the scarf is gorgeous... what is the brand of the yarn?

Drew: Hiya Cheryl!! Thanks for the kudos!

I'm using Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Grande from Peru. Go fondle some!! Seriously.

Gravatar Um, excuse me, but is that KNITTING? Are those knitting needles? If so, what is the Crochet Dude doing KNITTING? And cables? cables? I have been banging my head over cables. Macrame bikinis, no prob. Knitted cables? Arghhh!!! (http://www.cabincove.com/?p=28#comments)
I'm so jealous!

Drew: Howdy Dave! Email me sometime and I'll walk you through it. Cables is easy stuff dude! You'll see!!

Gravatar I love alpaca - bought lots at Rhinebeck! Love the scarf - what stitch pattern is thata? It is very pretty.

Drew: Hi Colette! Thanks! I'm going to write down the pattern and post it to my free patterns page. Stay tuned!

Gravatar Beautiful job Drew...Congrats on your first paycheck as a designer...I love the color of the yarn and the work is beautiful!!

Drew: Thanks Marcia!!

Gravatar i too just touched my first feel of babe alpaca. It was heaven. im insanly jealous of that scarf and i just made myself an expensive scarf out of berroco hip hop and rowan kidsilk haze.

i shoulda went for the alpaca

Drew: Hi Holly. Looks like you'll have to make another one!!

Gravatar Drew, care to post a pattern for that gorgeous scarf? I love it! I'm in cable mania right now... love me some cables...

Drew: Hiya Laurie!! I'm so glad you like it. I'll post the pattern to my free patterns page soon!

Gravatar Isn't alpaca yarn dreamy? Buying some for a scarf for ME is on my to-do list, if I can ever find that darn thing!

Congrats on the designer paycheck!

Drew: Thanks for the kudos! I think you should do a scarf for ME!

Gravatar 100% baby alpaca is better than chocolate. Excuse me while I run to Friends of Wool to fondle some...

Drew: Ooh, better than Godivas?

Gravatar It's winter here? No one told me. What happened to fall?

Pretty red scarf, the cables look like big hearts to me. Are you going to keep going or are you going make two halves and graft them together?
(So that the cables go in the same direction on both halves.)

Drew: I think I'm going to graft them together. I like the idea of the cables going the same direction on both sides.

Fall never came... but we fall back this weekend. Don't forget to change your clocks!

Gravatar MMMmmm...alpaca. Looks yummy! Love the pattern.

Drew: Thanks CK!

Gravatar Fall comes next week. Followed by another few days of summer, then a day or three of winter, back to fall, then winter, spring, winter, fall, winter and then spring and then eventually... sometime in April.... SUMMER.

I love Houston.

Drew: I love it too!!!

Gravatar MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM alpaca.. nothing feels softer!

And the scarf is great.. I can't wait until you post the pattern! (and give me an excuse to get my hands on some alpaca)

Drew: Blame it on me! LOL

Gravatar . . . Baby Alpaca. . . I did fondle some, I cried!!! I couldn't take it with me unless I wanted to live alone, with it, without my DH. . . I will however get some in the very near future so that I can make the scarf you are making once you post the pattern! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

Drew: Thanks Sedie. You probably made the right choice for now!

Gravatar The scarf looks absolutely lovely.

Do you have a knitting stitch book that you are using to find the stitches? If so, which one is it?

Drew: Hi Cindy. Just winging it for now. I do have some stitch books but they are mainly crochet.

Gravatar Ah, if only winter in Virginia were so warm. First snow today! 52 would be so nice.

Oh yes, and alpaca is wonderfully soft, I'm also glad it's not really that superbright red, hehe.

Drew: Thanks. I don't know why my camera started going goofy with the reds. It turns them all orangey and stuff.

Anywho, it's supposed to be back in the 60's for lows soon. I'll guess I'll have to pack my sweaters away again!

Gravatar hrumph. What kind of winter is 52 degrees. Don't you remember winter in the north? C'mon - you don't even need scarves down there!

Pure jealousy typing here...you know I adore you

Very lovely yarn - is there such a thing as virtual drool?

Drew: Hiya Stashie! I remember the north, with the snowmobile boots that leave little black balls of fuzz on your socks and snowsuits that cover up your halloween costumes. Oh, I remember....

Gravatar Totally love the scarf pattern you're doing....ooooh deep cranberry color - preTTy!!

Drew: Thanks Jewels. I hope I can get a better pic of the color soon!

Gravatar that scarf is to die for!!!!

Drew: Thank you Jana!

Gravatar Aw, is poor widdle Drewsy-woosy cold?

52? Give me a break, boy! 12 is cold. 52 is balmy.

Bawahahahahahahahahahahaha

Drew: Sad, aint it? Cold, alone, hungry, sober.... all very sad....

Gravatar Um, yeah...I meant Drewl....you crack me up, too!

Gravatar Very nice my dear!

Hey, have you tried photographing in natural light sans flash? That will make a difference.

Drew: Hey Regina! Yeah, this pic was taken in natural light. I'm going to have to haul out the giant owners manual (that reads like stereo instructions) and see if something got set wrong.

Remember those cameras where all you had to do was push the button, then advance the film?

Gravatar is this a pattern that you can share?
glenna

Drew: Hi Glenna! I will be posting the pattern soon on my free patterns page. Stay tuned!

Gravatar love the scarf, and the "Exquisite" ghan - such beautiful work.
I fondled some of the Plymouth Baby Alpaca at my LYS last night - could barely move on.

And congrats on your pattern book - can't wait for it to come out!

Drew: It's hard to describe the feel of the yarn, isn't it? Amazing stuff!!!

Gravatar Drew. Where aaaaarrrrreee you? I emailed you re: november stuff, dying to hear back, stalk stalk. heh.

Drew: Here I am...it's okay...no need to be scared now....

Gravatar Honey, 52 here is SHORTS weather and time to have all the windows open!!!

I do love the pattern.. I was thinking that would look nice on the bottom of a sweater like Samus from Knitty... but you'd have to work it so the cables went the opposite way from front to sides...do you know what I mean??? maybe you would know how to figure that out..... I can see it........

Drew: Much to the dismay of the dainty niece-unit, I have all the windows open! I loooove cooler weather, and so do Cleo & Chandler! They have been extra frisky since winter hit. Could be the fresh catnip I've been giving them too. Probably a combination of both...

Anywho...

Gravatar Yes, I too love the scarlet scarf. The scarf looks even more goregous because you photographed it on top of carpet of the opposite color! You're so designer-ish!

Gravatar i lerve it! it's gorgeous!
