Dude, whats on yer mind?

Gravatar I wish I could understand the pattern terminology! Help!

Gravatar I'm going to make these for friends of mine. They enjoy entertaining and I think they'll get a kick out of them.

Gravatar Aaaahhhh! I love these!

Drew: Thanks!

Gravatar holy crap, what a great idea! if i can stop knitting for a second i'm going to make these as bridal shower gifts!

thanks so much for such a great pattern!

Drew: You're very welcome! Enjoy!!

For a bridal shower gift wouldn't it be great if you ran a row of pearl-beads across the straps of the flip flops?

Gravatar (1) Adorable!! Thanks to Crazy Aunt Purl for the link!
(2) I am new to crochet, so forgive the (probably) stupid question--but how do you not crochet this in the round? Did you work it back & forth? I'm confused.

Thank you for the super-cool free pattern.

Drew: Good call, you absolutely make these in the round. But instead of joining each round you just keep on going like a spiral. That way you won't get a line where the rounds are joined. Have fun!

Gravatar oh. my. gods. Wine flip flops. THAT is real cute. Congratulations on making the pattern that finally gets me to go learn crochet. You are so clever! My cousin and FCIL (there is such a thing as future-cousin-in-law right?) will be thanking you too because they're gonna get a set of these along with their registered wine glasses.

Drew: Hiya Lisa! I'm so glad this is prompting you to learn to crochet! Woo hoo!! And I'm honored you would make them as a wedding gift, that's amazing for me!

Have fun!

Gravatar These flip flops for wine glasses are absolutely adorable!! What a great idea. To serve as a coaster, a glass identifier and in all honesty for a summer party they are just fun! Thanks Drew for such a creative and fun pattern. Something I will definitly have to do!

Daisy

Gravatar What a cute idea! I absolutely love these! Thanks so much for the pattern--I will definitely be trying these out!
Melissa

Gravatar Of wow, what a great idea, I can't wait to try these. Thank you for another "classic"!

Gravatar Hi Drew
These flip flops are great. So original. However, My table is looking like a 'shoe store' with flip flops in all colors and sizes scattered all over! I am having a hard time getting the 'form' or any form other then an amoeba form. I have redone them and they do not look flipish? Any input.
TY
Kathleen

Drew: Hi Kathleen! Photos! I wanna see photos!! And they are supposed to be amoeba shaped, so must be doing them correctly! Woo hoo!

Gravatar Sorry no camera;(
But the coasters did win a BLUE ribbon at the county fair!! In novelty division. You were right they are suppose to be amoebic!! Very amoebic!
Thanks
Kathleen

Gravatar Drew, these are so cute! My yarn is smaller than kitchen weight though. Do you have suggestions on how to modify the pattern for a smaller weight/gauge? I'm making them for my cousin Teresita's wedding shower.

Gravatar Totally fun!
A must for the summer

Gravatar Cool! - I like those!
btw - those of us here in downunderland (Australia) don't call those particular items of footwear "flip flops" ... we call them "Thongs" ... LOL (it is probably a good thing you don't - I am not sure if I even want to imagine what sort of websites would come up if someone did a google/etc search for "Crochet Thongs"

From Drew: LOL - glass thongs.... sounds dangerous!

I'm glad you like the pattern. They work up so quickly and make great last minute hostess gifts!

Gravatar My husband will love these, not because he likes flip flops, but because he hates it when people don't use coasters. Here they are attached to the glass!! Great pattern, and thanks for providing it free.

Gravatar Love these flip flop coasters!!!! I live in Florida and these are perfect for our Friday night Tripoley. Thanks for sharing.

Gravatar Thank you for an inspirational idea! My daughter is getting married next year, and until now I hadn't been able to think of something special that I could make for her bridal shower - to show her how much I love her. It is easier to buy a gift, but one that you make yourself is much more personal.
Thanks again.

Gravatar Oh my goodness. This is sooo cute. I love the idea. I'm having my wedding in Jamaica and these will be great favors for our guest. THANK YOU.
