Well, I guess if I didn't know my birthday, 12! But I mean, I could only reasonably be a few different ones, seeing as how I definitely was at least x months old and not older than x months. I just use my birth certificate birthday (which is on the cusp). I was just being dumb when I said today could be my birthday.
Wow. So how did they determine what date to put on your BC?
Um, I don't know. But really, the date is probably right. If not, who cares, right? You think I could sue for that? 
My grandfather, an Orthodox rabbi, never knew his birthday growing up in Poland. When he emigrated to S. Africa, they randomly assigned to him the birthday of December 25. No joke.
I don't know who you would sue. If you knew who to sue, that person could probably tell you your real birthday.
I made my cat's birthday the day he came home with me rather than guessing a date. A lot of people would disagree with that method though.

I think your mom would have something to say about your birthday.
They dont just take the little ones that are going to be adopted and say something like ohhh let just roll some dice and say she/he was born on this date. You were not born in a field in some third world country and left on the side of the road for a month or so until someone said "hey get that one, she looks like she will be a great writer!"
But wait, maybe in your case, you came out talking and everyone ran leaving you on your own for a few months...until someone either very brave or not to bright picked you up!
so ok maybe they did guess at yours
But I know your mom says you were born on date x in the month y in the year z and I would argue with you way before I argued with her!
You need to let me guest blog once and give the story of mom going to (your original birth country) and shopping for a baby!
My Evil Little Brother and his wife are contemplating adoption, so he went online looking for the cheapest countries...he says there are good deals to be had on fresh babies in Kazakhstan and Haiti.
RT: Tell ELB good luck with that. It took my sister around 2 years to finally adopt 2 boys from Russia.
Stag: Our first vet assigned a birthday (completely random, I guess because our cat was a grown-up cat already) to our first cat. We kept it because it was the day before A's and we thought that was cute. Our other cat, we just use the "coming into our house" day as his birthday.

If I ever have a kid I'm going to get one of those Chinese girls. Seriously. Child birth isn't for me, and those little girls are so cute, and they need a home. I probably won't know her birthday either.
