Hello...Newman

Gravatar Ooh, I like this post. It's kind of like a request week in reverse. I think I'll post about this in the next couple of days.

Gravatar Egyptian Eye (allegedly) on left shoulder (for ex-girlfriend, of course). Bat (devil) wings on back (for me, of course).

Gravatar Kristine - you'll think about it?! As in, maybe tomorrow I'll go out and get one so I can comment on this?! I like it when my readers get so involved.

Gravatar hee hee.

but no, i meant i would think about the request and about what i'd write about it and then i'd post. and i have.

Gravatar I have one tattoo. It's on my lower back (on the right side). I'll e-mail you about what it is b/c it seems so cheesy when I describe it. There is one other tattoo that I would ever get and it would be a dedication to my parents, but I'll tell you about that in the e-mail also.

Gravatar Three (technically, though maybe it should be four?).
The first was a frog on my left shoulder shortly after I moved to Austin. I had a whole butterfly thing going; had spent years deciding on it; and a friend drew this cute little frog the night before I went to get it so I changed my mind. On a side note, I took my mom to the same guy a year later to get her first tat.

The second was a knotwork butterfly on my right ankle. I got it in El Paso while home for a childhood friend's grandmother's funeral. It was done so poorly, I had to get it redone when I got #3.

The third is a take-off on the Texas seal on my left calf. Instead of the normal branches, I got bluebonnets, and the star in the middle is colored like a Texas flag. I got it in Dallas with my best friend while she got a yellow rose on the back of her neck. We went right after her dad died, and the rose was for him.

The fourth-ish was a touch up on my frog when the same girl who did my Texas tat put the frog on a branch in a field of flowers that cover a fair portion of my left shoulderblade. We were in Austin because it was my boyfriend's 40th and he got his first tat at the same time.

I want one more. The frog represents water, the butterfly air, and the bluebonnets earth - I need fire. We actually almost got ones in Hawai'i but it ended up not happening, so now I want a tiny flame (like the size of a dime) somewhere, maybe on my left hip.

They're addictive and wonderful and if I wasn't going into the legal profession I'd get *lots* more. But I've already restricted myself to short sleeves (cause the new flowers show on sleeveless shirts) and pants (cause the Texas tat or butterfly shows in skirts), so I have to be careful where I get any future ones.

(There, aren't you glad you asked?)

Oh yeah, pictures here:

Gravatar The bluebonnets were my fave! Thanks for sharing!

Gravatar i have none. But husband has six.
bluebirds (two) one weird thing on his back, a spiderweb all around his leg, "face to face" tatooted on his inner arm, and a martini glass, dice and playing cards on his arm.

Gravatar I have my wifes name on my chest in a heart with Roses..
People always say ohhh a tatoo is permanent, shouldnt have put your wifes name..
Hello stupid, marriage is permanent!
working on 20 years.

Gravatar I have two, a small Chinese dragon on my back and a Chinese character on my inner ankle, well, really on my inner heel almost.

Gravatar I have one...

It's a film camera that is a gun--the image comes from a Cuban film festival in the 1960s. The topic was the revolutionary power of film. I have two more planned, once is the Amnesty International candle and the other is a variation on a Russian prison tattoo, which says "Кто не был лишен свободы, тот не знает ёе цены." Which essentially means, "Who has not been deprived freedom does not know its price."

They serve to remind me not to be a complete sell out as an attorney.

Gravatar Heh. I used to work at a pretty conservative private school and one day I came out and saw that the air had been purposefully let out of one tire. I always wondered if it was my W with a slash thru it sticker or the Amnesty International one. I'm guessing both were probably inflammatory.
