I had a pretty big scare from a fake eye injury.
Hope your ticker's okay.

Is this the part where you find out what boring lives your readers have? I visited a rose garden yesterday, and some of the blooms were six inches in diameter. I thought that was pretty interesting.
Years ago I worked with a woman whose teenage daughter either dropped by the office or else called her mother at the conclusion of her school day. Her mother, without fail, asked the same question: "What's new and interesting?" I always felt kind of sorry for the daughter. It was like she wasn't worthy of her mother's attention unless she could come up with some new and interesting tale with which to entertain her.
I'm not saying you're placing an undue burden on your readers! I just think it was an odd way for a mother to treat her daughter. And I wonder what became of the daughter as she grew into an adult.

Hmm. What did you eat for lunch today? See, that's the kind of thing I'm interested in.
I'm always very interested in the mundane details, because I know that something exciting like having little things attached to you for an EKG doesn't happen every day. AND the girl who was doing my EKG attachings said that she had liked the way I had paired a black sweater with my white blazer. So it wasn't a bad day in the overall picture.

The famous white blazer? Why didn't you tell us earlier?!
Brunch today consisted of leftover chicken-vegetable soup.

Yes, that blazer. I didn't mention it because I was traumatized for days over the thought of having to give up coffee, and also because they had hooked me up to a scary machine when all I wanted was some Flonase

I had a diabetes scare last week. That was exciting. Then I graduated. Then I did nothing this past week and finally got a job. Yada yada yada. That's about it.
