My undergrad degree is is psychology, and I had no plans to go into law after college. In fact, I had planned on being a clinical psychologist. Law just happened to occur to me because of the job I had at the time, and it seems to have worked out ok.

Initially I wanted to be a lawyer because law school was three years, but college was four years.
And my family still called me the "smart one."

I went to college as a history major, but didn't take any history classes at first. I took a philosophy course and liked it, so I became a philosophy major. My mom said that philosphy would be good for law school, so I kept that in my mind. I did Model UN, too, and got a dual degree in International Affairs, so that made me decide to go to law school for international law. Then I found out there were no jobs in int'l law, so I concentrated in environmental law. And then I got a job as a consultant not practicing law. And now I don't know what the hell I'm going to do.

I was a double-major in Philosophy and Classical Greek (except for the semester I switched to Education so I could take "Teaching Elementary School Mathematics" to cover my math requirement.) I never thought I was law school bound, at the time I was thinking Divinity School. It wasn't until I was managing a state congressional campaign in 2000 that a lawyer on the campaign suggested law school to me that I even considered the idea.

I have a double major in Computer Science and Theatre (Scenic Design). I went *back* to law school because I was working as a film producer, and I thought it would be a good idea to learn more about the law, since producers are usually either lawyers or accountants...
I was fully intending to go back into film when I graduated, but the best laid plans, as they say...

I majored in Latin American Studies and Spanish, and wanted to work for the government abroad. But, I was told that I was too much of an "independent thinker." I liked words and social studies, and law seemed like the ultimate social studies job. Now I'm an appellate criminal defense attorney, and I couldn't be happier.

I went to undergrad for Politicial Science and got a minor in philosophy kind of by chance. I had taken a couple of random philosophy classes and was told if I took a couple more I could have a minor. I knew that I wanted to go to law school when I went college and there was no pre-law major. I ended up graduating in three years and thought I needed a break. So I worked for two years before going back.
