Good riddance, Moussaoui. Your crime, it seems, was underestimating the goodness of people you villified.
Hmmmm, now I hope WE can learn the same lesson.

Do you ever get the feeling he is just screwing with people trying to drain resources from the system?

Hi EP!
Was reading over your last several posts, and there is much food to graze on there! Good posts, and thought provoking. I fall into more of the realist classification, understanding that there is a need for a defense against evil, yet fully realizing that without balance one can become the very evil they fight against. Those lines blur on the battlefield I would say.
Also wanted to pop in to say hello. I currently teach a young adult group of about 40 in our church and they keep me busy. Good thing that I am young at heart--if not so much in body--it requires much energy.
Hope you are well!

DO OVER! Even if one is not familiar with the American criminal justice system, one should realize the finality that the jury verdict and the pronouncement of sentence mark.

I had a good friend die on 9/11. Moussaoui deserves to spend the rest of his life in a Syrian or Egyptian prison.

I'm so sorry, Nate.
I think "the rest of his life" would be fairly short in either place.

I tend to think, especially after his request to withdraw his guilty plea, that the life in prison sentence was actually better for him than a capital punishment sentence would be. He seems to have wanted to be put down, and the last thing I want to do, especially to someone who participated in the deaths of thousands of people, is give them what they want. Let him stew in it for several years, and maybe hope he lives a long life. He deserves it.
