It's good to see that Miss Bella and Mr Gato are such excellent friends. Did that take time or did they hit it off right away?
For the first week or two, it looked as if there might be bloodshed.
But the cat and the dogs (we have two) rapidly learned to tolerate each other.
Now they are all fast friends. Assuming that they don't forget that Mister Gato runs the show.
Aren't they so cute together!
cats generally learn to get along better with dogs than with other cats. I think the cat feels their master has this "other" animal for a different prupose. If it were another cat, it's a territorial thing. My parents have four cats, all male, and it's usually a WWE Smackdown at some point in the day.
As far as the dog goes, canines are pack animals. After a bit of time, they'll let almost any other living animal into the pack and protect it like a family member.
