THEE FISH BOWL!!!!! I used to walk down there and browse around regularly. I never saw any other students in there so I thought of it as one of my secret peaceful places.
Thee Fish Bowl is one of the greatest places on Earth. They always have adorable puppies and kitties (and if you flirt with the store guy you won't get yelled at for sticking your fingers in the cage!) Plus, it's right by a Blockbuster and a Baskin Robins, which were both kind of big deals and reasons to walk so far when I was at school
Now Evanston has a fancy Ben & Jerry's and movie rentals at Norris, so most people don't even CARE about Blockbuster and Baskin Robins. I hope that doesn't mean the puppies are neglected, too!
P.S.: Cute Overload is one of the greatest places on Internet Earth and the subject of many many "awwwwwwwwwwwws" at my place of employment.

No, NO! NOT your dream job. I thought it was my dream job... not that I'm black or have black hair, even, but I was working at a fashion(y) magazine in downtown Chicago and livin' it up Bradshaw style.
But, yeah... not so much on the awesomeness of that job. The editors? BITCH-Y. And you had to sign out to use the restroom, then sign back in when you came back so they could track how much time you had spent away from your desk. And if "they" (I didn't stick around long enough to find out who "they" were) thought you were spending too much time away from your desk, you'd have to stay that many minutes later, or come in that many minutes earlier. Sick, I tell you.
And Tyler... I have a kitten? Woo! Thanks for feeding it; you will be duly reimbursed. In dream world.
