I did a review on PR on another one of Vogue's knit wrap patterns - worst drafted pattern I've ever used, ever.
OTH, the Christine Jonson and Jalie and Onion knit patterns seem to be drafted much much better. I think I'm giving up on the big 4 for most knits (well, except that Simplicity that everyone has and loves).
and you're right, this contrast on the wrap is not a good thing.

I like the pattern. Not everything has to be symmetrical, not even our faces are symmetrical. I'll keep the trim, it could add interest

I don't think it seems bad, but then again I don't have much boobs to showcase so it wouldn't be a problem for my figure. I agree with Marji tho, I thing there are other pattern lines that are more "knit fabric" friendly ~ Kwik Sew, Jalie, Burda WOF, Ottobre Woman, & Onion.
