Such a basic piece, but with a lot of style. I agree about the neckband needing to be wider. The next time I make this shirt, mine will be wider, too!

I've got to try this! Do you always make muslins or just with SWAP?

Cidell,
It really depends on what it is. I didn't feel the need to do one on the black/white top below because it's loose. I had a "vision" in my mind on how I wanted that t-shirt to fit that why I "test drove" the pattern first.

It couldn't be any nicer, Erica.
What did you use for the muslin?

I had a cheap, Wal*Mart "mystery" knit and I used that.

I LOVE this pattern! I have a version that's almost the same green as in your example.
I'm working up the wrap version (View A) in muslin this weekend.

Erica,
Very nice.
Did you shorten the sleeves?

That is a great basic t-shirt. Are you using a serger for your knits or just using your regular machine?

I new you were working hard on your SWAP. Your garment looks great. I'm working on the interfacing for my sewing class project. I'll keep you guys updated. Happy Mother's Day everyone

I didn't shorten the sleeves, that's the length from the pattern piece.
I used the machine and the serger since my serger doesn't do a coverstitch.

The t-shirt is really cute! I think it is a wonderful idea to make the easier pieces first. That way when you are spending "quality time" making the more involved pieces you will have a sense of accomplishment that there are pieces of the SWAP already finished. Your first two pieces are pretty, timely and will really make your SWAP pop!

It looks perfect! This pattern is on the top of a pile right next to my keyboard. I am waiting for some knits to arrive in the mail.

Third time I've tried to post here...anyways I love both of your swap tops, you do excellent work and are such an inspiration to me. What type of dress form do you have, and what type of cutting mat do you use?

Those tees are really cute. They look comfy and super cute at the same time.

Maybe you've done it before and I've missed it, but I would be curious if you'd post your time for projects. You make it look so easy I was just wondering, as a guideline, how long it takes you from beginning (muslin) to completion (photo) of an average project.

I would love to give you a time, but that would be impossible. I never time myself because I'm doing this at home and I stop to take care of the house, cook, clean, shop, run errands, do laundry and anything else that may come up. There is never I time that I sew straight through a project without interruption.

I have made three tops from this pattern and I love the results, especially that of the tee. I plan to make more of them.
