Gravatar Very glam outfit! And I think I've seen that white shirt on this blog before.. It looks great on you!

Gravatar Fabulous Erica! I like the fact that you added boning to the waist structure; I would definitely do that too! You look terrific, very chic!!

Gravatar This is amazing! What a telepathy! I've just finished the exact same skirt and I added boning!!!!. I posted yesterday but I think my bloglines feeds don't work still trying to figure why not.
Great skirt and it really suits you!

Gravatar LUVs it and the shoes! :oD

Gravatar Elegant! Yes, I'd bone the waist if it were that high, too. With my short torso, I completely understand the waistband at bra band concept. I'm still tempted to make a higher waisted skirt, especially after seeing yours.

Gravatar Erica, I love it. And I love the high waist look. But, I don't know that I own shirts that tuck in anymore!

Gravatar It looks wonderful!!!!!!!! Another great job!

Gravatar Hey
It sure looks good on you. Not every woman can wear that type of skirt.
I love them myself and I am considering to buy the pattern myself, but I already have one much like also from Vogue.

Normally I make the top double, so it can hold ind my tommy, but I guess that a real boning would be better, I may try this the next time.

Gravatar The faux vest version looks great on you, I'm afraid this view would look a little St. Pauli Girl on me! Nevertheless, I recently bought this pattern and think that the other views might work on me if I make the waist a little bit narrower and avoid overfitting. The boning is a great suggestion too.

Gravatar Great skirt--it looks fab on you!! I need to make a new high-waist skirt for this autumn, so this pattern is definitely going on my "must sew" list!

Gravatar This looks great on you. I wrote off the high-waist trend because I didn't think I could do it in pants, but pencil skirts are another story...!

Gravatar Aren't skirts like the best thing to sew to get your sewing fix on?! It's probably why I own so many of them! Another great piece as usual! If I wasn't a contact at Flickr I would probably never see the new stuff since I'm back to work, now! *LOL* Great job! So what's up next?

Gravatar very classy...i like the combined outfit.

Gravatar I love the look of the skirt on you.

Gravatar That skirt looks great. How did you learn to sew? I've taken a class, and bought Sewing for Dummies and now the Vogue sewing book. Just finished an 'Eid dress for my daughter and am working on another 'Eid dress...

Gravatar You look great in this! I really admire the way you understand your own shape.

Gravatar Done.

I am moving to Alabama.

Gravatar I am in the process of making Vogue 8280 (Galaxy Dress), do you think it the boning would be useful in this design. I have a tummy and need all the stabilization I can get...

Gravatar 404momi,
I had to go look at mine! LOL V8280 can be boned at the waist. The pattern instructions (I believe) only calls for the bodice to be lined... I fully lined mine. You could add boning to the princess darts for stabilizing.

Gravatar Very nice outfit!

Gravatar I have a short torso so I doubt I rock all the high-waisted stuff. There are some cute styles out too.

Gravatar The Hotness. Great for work!!!

Gravatar i love that skirt. but it only looks nice on taller women - i think i'm too short to wear it.

Gravatar Erica...THOSE SLEEVES!!!!!!!!!!! I am SO loving the sleeves this season. I have two pieces of hotNESS I can't WAIT TO ROCK with some SERIOUS sleeve detail.

This look is HOT. You look like Meryl Streep in "Devil Wears Prada" ROFL!

Gravatar Fierce!! Look at you all posed!!! Tee Hee! Great Job!

Gravatar That looks good on you!!Another job well done!

Gravatar SUPER FLY!

Gravatar Go girl go! Love your sewing, style predictions and sneak peeks. I think your newest skirt looks great on you. This shows this skirt is a great skirt, and can be proportioned to many sizes and shapes. You really choose some winners. Your blog is fun to read and a great inspiration, keeps me sewing and I love your approach to living.

Susan

Gravatar Thanks so much for posting this... my favorite high waisted skirt has recently had a run in with some gum and may need replacement. (I love when my tendency to dress like half a century ago becomes hip again!).

Oh, and shai: I'm very short waisted, and I'm a pretty short person in general (as well as being a tad over the plus size line), and rock the high waisted skirts all the time. If you make the skirt to actually hit high in proportion to your natural waist it'll look great- instant hourglass!

Gravatar oohh, so cute, you look great

Gravatar I love that on you! I'm still debating about it. I had a skirt like that back in the 80s, and it looked good, but I was 15 lbs lighter and, um, higher. Not sure if it would work on my two-kids-later frame. But enought about me. Yours looks fabulous!

Gravatar The skirt is fabulous!!!!!!! I love it!
