Nothing as easy for dressing as a shirtwaist in the summer - if you need to dress it up, just throw a jacket on top of it and change your shoes and off you go. Oh, wait a minute...does this mean that there is yet another jacket in your sewing future? Hmmm?

I know your dress is going to be so fly. A shirtdress is on my top things to sew this season as well. I am going to try Simplicity 4171 view C minus the pockets near the bust area.

I remember making something similar back in the 80's. Blue and white pinstripe seersucker. I use white for the collar and the belt. It really was very nice except I looked just like a nurse!!! Somehow I never really enjoyed wearing it. lol

I love those sailor pants. I'm hoping my 16 year old daughter will love them enough to let me make them for her as I'm too old and shaped all wrong to do them justice.
