My mama always found ways to circumvent those pattern sale limits (i.e. different stores, having kids/friends go with money, etc. etc.) LOL.

Circumventing the rules like that in our house always seems to involve husbands and children. Five each...that gets us a good number!

You're right shopping puts you in a great mood. But being in a great shopping area with great sales and no expendable cash puts you in a very BAD mood, lol. I can't wait to see the homecoming dress.

Well done !!! I love shopping the sewing sales, but sadly here in Oz, we never have those 50% off notions and deeply discounted patterns. I love to see what everyone else has snagged though !

There's nothing like a good shopping session (my second fiber related favorite activity, right next to sewing)!

Hi Erica, I used the same Vogue pattern for the bride's maid dresses for the McWilliams project. They wanted a two piece dress instead of the one piece gown. So I had to add to the top of the skirt to meet the waist and allow for seam allowance. I also added a waistband. I'm almost done. BTW the corset is a little low at the top. Good luck and happy sewing!

When the local fabric store by me use to run these sales when my kids were smaller, they each stood in line with five patterns and cash. 15 patterns in one shot! *LOL* Or there was the old go out to the car and come back trick...the rule is 5 per visit right?! *LOL* Erica, I know that you like to touch fabric but have you ever thought of purchasing binding and lace online. You can get larger quantities at cheaper prices...places like www.homesew.com; www.newarkdressmakersupply.com or www.atlantathread.com Those little packages get to be expensive even at 50% off!
