I have to agree, great picks. Not sure what Michael Kors is smoking, but I have to guess that he would have issues with this if it were on the "project runway"! LOL!
I'm with you on that Michael Kors! I got my issue of Vogue patterns in the mail the other day and could not believe ANYONE (well, maybe Paris or Brittany) would wear that . . that . . . dress! Holy Mother of Christ, even if you have the best boodie in town, I don't think the average person would want to highlight in that fashion.
I love V1039. I am going to have pick that one up. As far as Michael, all I can say is Michael Michael, Michael!

Great picks, I thought the Spring collection was awesome! So many interesting design details on, usually, mundane-type pieces! Totally agree with you on the Kors dress. I hate to criticize since I would never be able to be that good of a designer, but it looks like the dress is actully being sucked up into her ass?!?
I was so excited when I saw the new patterns up! This is their best collection in a long time. I was writing down pattern number after pattern number and then I got to the Michael Kors dress....

My picks from this group were 1025, 1026, 1027, 1036, 1037, 1040, 8474, 8476, and 8483. Guess I liked the new designs, huh?
I actually don't hate the Michael Kors design (although I will not be making it), but there was one I saw at Neiman Marcus in December that I liked better. It was a one shouldered asymmetrical knit sheath. Also ruched, but on the long side seam, onto a heavy metal zipper!! It was killer, and I wish they would have chosen that dress for a pattern instead.

I believe the correct way to respond to the Kors dress is to screech "that butt, is INSANE!"

Lordy,Lordy. I thought the same thing about that ruched madness. However, as a member of the no-rear contigent, it actually might flatter mine, since the whole point of ruching is to add or exaggerate fullness in an area. Even so... I wouldn't dare... not even in BLACK!
I'm mortified to admit that I liked the 'booty' dress. But then I've always marched to a different drummer. Please don't hate me!

Wonderful pattern selections. I especially like the cute jacket pattern, V1036. If made from denim, it would still be casual, but slightly upscale from a traditional denim jacket.
Excellent point about the Michael Kors pattern. I don’t know of any woman who would love to call attention to *that* part of her body.
Maybe he was having some weird disco-era flashback....

I love the pant style of 1040. I am feeling the slim cut. I'm also feeling the shorts of 1035 but not sure if I'm bold enough to rock them.

Sad to say, he booted Milan and scolded Michael Knight for not ruching properly and not making it flattering on a woman. I think he should learn how to listen and take his own advice about ruching.
Love your letter to Michael Kors! I also love his designs (I'm wearing a Michael Kors designed sweater right now!), but that dress... come on! How could you even sit down in that thing?

I love some of your picks for spring, i am going to get my plan and carve out some time to do some spring sewing.
What was MK thinking? "No woman really likes her rear, so let's ... hide it. Let's cover it in ... yeah, ruching! That's it. Let's ruch her entire rear and no one will notice it because they'll be so busy admiring the splendor of my ... ruching." That doesn't require the fashion police, it requires the fashion police in the stylish white coats.
On V8480, I just ordered that as my one purchase at the Vogue sale - I'm doing it in denim because all my old denim jackets were trashed, but I can definitely see it in a color too.

U and 1969 with these letters are hilarious. Seriously, the dress is not flattering, especially when you know the average woman has enough bumps of her own to now add ruching to the cellulitic equation (assuming there are no Spanx and in that case she shouldn't be in jersey anyway.)
1027 (dress), 1035 (high waist jeans), 1039 (tunic) are the hotness!

Seeing that ruched behind on that dress makes me wonder if Michael Kors is at all closely involved with the patterns he puts his name on for the home sewer. Jeez, talk about pattern drafting to a different drummer! Yucckkkk.
