I'm glad you're back and refreshed. I was a little worried and debating emailing you.
Children are better than 6-pack abs. Most of the time!

What good advice! I had never noticed that you have a pooch. I suspect you lie. You always look very lovely to me. I find your sewing very inspiring.

I love the brown jacket it reminds me of Vogue 2942. I have made peace with my belly as well. It's my badge of honor for childbirth (and my devotion to ice cream!)

Love that stella mc cartney blue dress!
And thanks for introducing me to the portney (was it??) site that allows one to play with various pieces. I was in Hancocks on thursday and this: http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi...TI=10001&
page=2 butterick retro pattern caught my eye. Probably because even though they're broad, my shoulders, (and upper arms) are my best feature. I'm seeing a pattern here. I really like the stella version better though.

I have kids too so I can relate. Another good tip is to make sure you have the correct undergarments. Spanx are the truth.

That was from Lucky Mag, right? They did a nice job with her outfits.
I just bought a cobalt blue dress from the Gap. I love it.
Spanx secret: They are also available at Tar-zhay (under the name Assets) for a fraction of the cost and they do the same thing!

Thanks for the Tar-zhay hook-up... I'll have to check them out. I cry everytime I get a run in my $25 pair of Spanx! LOL It sure would be nice to have another option. I found something similar at Wally World but they didn't feel like they were holding it all in the same.

As I am short waisted, I can't wear belted anything. I tend to like fairly busy prints, as they keep the eye moving. Layered looks aren't too bad for me, but I'll take a slightly longer jacket. In skirts, I usually don't do a waistband, and make the front larger, with short darts, but i cut the bottom with to equal the back; this way I don't have excess fabric in the front, for a better profile. In dresses, I like A-line; it's so forgiving.
