procrastinate more!

This writer is extremely discouraged, as you are, by Kerry's lackluster campaign. (And by the way, did the evil, frog-spitting Cheney cause Clinton's heart attack? Hmmm)

I've been getting annoying email messages from the Kerry campaign with military subject lines; one recent example is "The Cavalry is Coming" which sounds hopelessly out of touch in today's world. Not that I am in favor or war, but this isn't exactly the Civil War we're talking about.

I think you might be right that Kerry should have come out as an anti-war candidate - Dennis K and Howard Dean, where are you now??

Gravatar They're lying low so as not to muddy the non-message.

Gravatar The problem is that Kerry ISN'T against the war. He voted for it, and even was quoted as saying he'd have supported it even had he known there were no WMDs. That is why I, personally, hate the Democrats right now. I can't believe they were such conservative wimps and chose Kerry to represent them. Now he is talking about the war being a mistake, but his stance is still the same as Bush's: we've got to stay and finish the job.

That said, I'm still voting for the guy. A vote for Bush is a vote for tyranny. A vote for Nader is a vote for Bush. At least choosing Kerry makes the statement that Bush f---ed up the country, and maybe Kerry will learn from it. If not, I'll vote against him next time.

In any case, I am not a big Kerry fan. Unfortunately, I doubt this comment will make you an optimist again.

Gravatar This reader in Maine is leaning toward the Green candidate if Maine appears to be a safe state for Kerry. I know, I know.....

Gravatar I wouldn't count on Maine being a safe state for Kerry. But if Maine is not a safe state for Kerry, we're all screwed....

Gravatar Actually, the question is whether or not Maine's first district is safe for Kerry. Maine's electoral votes follow the results in each of the two districts. But I agree with you.

Gravatar OK, the first district is probably safe. Gosh. I would never have thought that in THIS election I would contemplate support for breaking ranks with the Democrats again...
