Gravatar Christ, and you call me an egotist!

Gravatar I had a great time in my college writing workshops.

Unfortunately, now I'm thinking about what I once thought was my own writing style and should probably admit I'm writing with a combination of voices: Davis, Enger, Jackson, and Early.

My new name will be Kristen Jadaenear.

Gravatar This whole thing is priceless! Thanks for a great read tonight.

and BTW, loved your poems in the new issue of Terrain.

Gravatar Justin, how did you get in touch with him? He is publishing the email addresses of those he's mad at, so why protect him?

Gravatar I had my own little spat with Slone this past winter that resulted in him posting a cartoon version of me on his website.

Why? Because I asked him to substantiate his claim that Lawrence Ferlinghetti and Andrei Codrescu were fascists!

and the sequel:

By the way: He wouldn't.

Gravatar I think Slone has some valid things to say - just the way he says it and the way he goes after people with such relentlessness make me, too, question his sanity. You're right, poets are people with feelings; and most poets are adjuncts and suchwise, who make little money for what can be stultifying work - though there are many who make even less for even more stultifying work. My problem is not with poets of course, but with the creative writing system itself. Surely it's a problem when all our poets are holed up in academia! It narrows the scope of our poems, and turn everything we do into an academic exercise. That's just me.
