Gravatar Daimn, Ezra! Your story just get curiouser and curiouser!

Gravatar The sooner these commissions are reigned in the better.

I'm not surprised hearing that there are biased members sitting on them.

Makes me wonder who appointed them in the first place.

Gravatar I note that the Brother Chak was merely charged with shooting up a night club and not convicted. I’d be careful.

Gravatar "On March 25th we might get a glimpse at the inner workings of the Canadian Human Rights Commission"

LOL!

Gravatar The Canadian public is behind you Ezra. Lets expose this foreign mafia who has infiltrated our community and government.
We need some arrests and some deportations.

Gravatar This should be fun.

Gravatar Islam’s war on the west is the stuff of a great espionage novel. We have spies and moles in liberal sponsored Gestapo style headquarters.
Thought crimes, and snitches turning in their fellow citizens on trumped up charges of feeling offended. There are brutal Imams that abuse their cult worshipers and send mafia thugs to burn the homes and beat witnesses to their atrocities. Each player rubbing the others backs in secret conspiracy to insure the success of their overthrow of the west. Money is disappearing within the communities quite possibly finding it’s way to wars that kill our troops. And that’s only Alberta.
One shudders to think of the implications of the rot within Europe and a potential US presidential candidate.
Ezra you may become a very rich man once you finish the story, god save us all.

Gravatar Ezra - I know the more rocks you turn over, the more that slithers will pop out into the sunlight. This is huge! There should be a full-scale parlimentarian investigation into all HRCs - and there will be if we all start demanding it now! Write your member of parliament and your MPP. Hell - write the PMO - it's about time Harper got off his ass and started acting like a conservative.

Gravatar And the light shines brighter and brighter.....!!!!!

Gravatar So this story sheds some light on the quality of candidates welcomed with open arms by two parties: The Liberal party and the HRC. Note this fellow 'resigned' his bid for candidacy, he was not 'rejected' by the party. It's really disgusting that a Jew hating bigot could become a political leader in this country. As for the HRC, it will be interesting to find out if they have bigots on staff going after Canadian citizens. It seems every rock Ezra turns over finds all kinds of creepy crawlers.

Gravatar On March 14, along with two other complaints to the CBC Ombudsman (paper trail only), I sent the following:
____________

Dear Mr. Carlin

I am writing to find out why the CBC has largely overlooked a HUGE story, of very serious import to the Canadian public. That is, the controversy surrounding the draconian and possibly criminal modus operandi of the Canadian and Provincial Human Rights Commissions (HRCs).

Ezra Levant’s web site is excellent for an on-going analysis of this issue. Below are two excerpts from his site today: one that he posted and the second, a recent letter from MP Keith Martin to a constituent, I believe, both of which point out the very real and present danger the HRCs pose to the freedoms and rights of law abiding Canadian citizens.

While the CBC has devoted an inordinate amount of time to the far less important Cadman issue, it has given very little coverage to the HRC issue. E.g., Is the CBC going to cover the issue of the March 25th secret CHRC hearing that’s planned in order for an accused citizen to cross examine his CHRC prosecutors? (Now, isn’t THAT a quaint, due process idea?)

The CHRC has actually asked the public to submit reasons why the hearing should be open to the public: maybe the CBC should investigate why the onus is not on the CHRC to demonstrate why it thinks the hearing should be in camera. Shouldn’t the CBC be concerned about government agents acting, in secret hearings, against Canadian citizens outside the protection of due process?

I’d like to know if the CBC plans to cover this exciting and vitally important issue with the seriousness it deserves and, if not, why not?

Sincerely -

My Name

They're laughing at us in the Cayman Islands, and not just because of our weather.

According to this report in the Caymanian Compass newspaper, they're having a debate over there about whether or not to create a Canadian-style human rights commission.

Reverend Nicholas Sykes knows what's in store for Caymanians. An excerpt:

Mr. Sykes detailed several cases taken on by the Canadian Human Rights Commissions.

“In [Human Rights Commission] the defendant’s right to due process is withdrawn. They reach judgments on the basis of no fixed law and by simply agreeing to hear a case, they tie up the defendant in bureaucracy and paperwork, and bleed him for the cost of lawyers, while the person who brings the complaint, however frivolous, stands to lose nothing.”

Mr. Sykes said over half all of the Canadian Human Rights Commissions “hate crime” cases have been brought by one person who was a former employee of the Canadian Human Rights Commission.

Here are a few other choice words of warning from Mr. Sykes:

“I can assure you that justice in the eyes of these newly–conceived bodies has been quite unlike the justice to which we are accustomed,” he said..

“The function of the commission and any related appropriate bodies is to a

Gravatar Thanks for your blog Ezra. You're doing terrific work to the benefit of all of us. You really need to write a book once the dust has settled.

Gravatar This whole thing is starting to play out like an episode of the X Files.Keep digging Ezra the truth is out there.

Gravatar Ezra, You are doing a wonderful job exposing this incestuous nest of self serving vipers. Slowly the public is becoming aware of the true character and mean spirited attitude permeating these HRC's. I assume you are now considered an enemy in the eyes of the AHRC and therefor one can only speculate at the harassment and abuse you and your family have probably been subjected to because of your work on this file. I congratulate you sir, you are a brave man indeed.

Gravatar My post above was obviously too long for the space. Here's the rest of the Cayman Compass info.

I'll not add the letter fromKeith Martin to Joe, as it's already available at this site.

“The function of the commission and any related appropriate bodies is to assist the complainant, to assist the bringing of complaints, to help individuals... “What about the other side of the issue?... All the assistance goes to the complainant, but where is the assistance given to the defendant?

“The system is one–sided, and in this matter alone, is offensive to a reasonable person’s sense of justice.”

...“This is the sort of madness you’ll face in Cayman....

[The following was written by Ezra.] What good fortune for the Cayman Islands to have a man like that on guard. I have no doubt that, given our wintery conditions, a half-dozen Canadian human rights commission staff are proposing to fly to the Caymans on our taxpayers' dime to lecture such obstinate men, and to stay there until they're convinced, or spring arrives in Canada, whichever comes first.

Good for the Caymans -- and for the Compass, which has already done more hard news reporting on the subject of Canadian Human Rights Commission than most Canadian newspapers have.

Gravatar I am very much enjoying your research concerning the HRC. Thanks for sharing your discoveries.
Very interesting and revealing. I look forward to your book!

Gravatar “The process of settlement is a ‘Civilization-Jihadist Process’ with all the word means. The Ikhwan must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated ad God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

Gravatar I think Dave made the best comment so far with his delightful Monty Python link. My advice to Mr. Levant would be to put on a few extra pounds, just in case he is compelled by the AHRC to have his weight compared with that of the typical domestic duck.

Gravatar It's instructive to look at the "Human Rights" circles that those who try to muzzle the speech of others move in. Chak, in addition to providing "Human Rights Workshops" at ECEJ ("Edmonton Centre for Equal Justice") was a speaker in 2003 at the CAPDHHE (Canadian Association for the Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment in Higher Education) conference in Calgary.

Hilary Jenkins attended on behalf of SMUFU (Saint Mary's University Faculty Union). She describes CAPDHHE as "a national meeting of harassment advisors, officers and policy makers from post-secondary institutions from across Canada, as well as faculty, students, staff and administrators with professional interests in creating harassment-free environments. The theme this year was 'Navigating the Human Rights Matrix: Tools and Strategies to Meet Institutional Responsibilities and Challenges.'"

The keynote speech, "Building Democratic Alliances Between Human Rights Change Agents and Non-Designated Group Employees in Post Secondary Institutions" was given by the director of UGHREO (University of Guelph Human Rights and Equity Office), Patrick Case, who would later be appointed to the Ontario Human Rights Commission.

At this conference, gravid with present and future HRCers, Jane Mulkewich of HRESMU (Human Rights and Equity Services at McMaster University) gave a speech, "Hate Speech versus Free Speech," during which portions of the film "Confrontation at Concordia" were viewed. Jenkins was appalled by what she saw: "The film is misrepresentational, and emphasizes that free speech was being violated by the protesters and the threat of violence," when the "facts were" that "Netanyahu's visit...was funded to a large extent by the Israel Asper Foundation."

Notice how the name itself, tellingly, is presented as ample justification for violently shutting down speech? Surely if the name had been "Liam O'Connor" some justification or explanation as to its significance would have been required.

The keynote speaker also expressed her disappointment with the statement put out by the CAUT (Canadian Association of University Teachers), that "open dialogue must be supported," on the grounds that the statement gave "no indication that hate speech might arise under the guise of free speech...this should also have been mentioned in CAUT's statement."

Perhaps the shouting rioters who smashed windows and intimidated Jewish students were also expressing their fears about potential hate speech.

The day after Mulkewich's speech the plenary lecture -- "Human Rights: Legal Developments and Implications for Post-Secondary Institutions" was given by Janice Ashcroft and Arman Chak. Both of them would later serve as counsel for the very HRC that would harass a guy with a Jewish name on the basis of an utterly ridiculous claim made by a noted anti-Semite.

I'm curious to see what FOIP's follow-up to their "the dog ate my mail" letter will be

Gravatar Hats off to you, Mr. Levant, there in the vanguard against tyranny. Godspeed as you shine the light of freedom and liberty in the dark spaces of our "human rights" commissions.

1. CBC
2. Chak and the Calgary Alderman

Concerned Canadian posted:

Dear Mr. Carlin

I am writing to find out why the CBC has largely overlooked a HUGE story, of very serious import to the Canadian public.

I am looking forward to reading your follow-up post and what Me Carlin has to say. (I say 50% chance you do not get a reply prior to March 25, and any reply will 'thank you for your interedt in the CBC blah-blah-blah')

Gravatar Funny isn't it.

The immigrant, disaffected, ingrate imam So-hard-farty types, infiltrate our spaces, use us, our resources, our money, steal our ideas, technology, and education. Then, they rape us overtly, mimicking the ancient antics of a certain Danish cartoon character.

But one culture is as good as any other, unless the other is our own.

Doubt that teachers will coerce little children in Canada to wear Ezra-T-shirts to protest HRC bullies.

Gravatar RCMP helps organize conference to battle radical extremism
The Province article:

I would be happy if the RCMP would just up hold the laws of Canada, track and arrest those possibly responsible for crime and let the lawyers and courts take it from there.
I am not comfortable with the RCMP being social engineers or putting out that image for public consumption.

I'm just saying!

Gravatar It does my heart good to see some very unlikely people come together on this topic. Daniel Webster said "If I were to loose all of my frredoms save one, I would choose freedom of speech...for with it I would soon win back all of the others"

My own cause would perhaps not be popular with the rest of you, but that does not matter. What matters is that you have noticed that you are not getting your tax dollar's worth from the CBC....appointee arrangements tend to be corrupt and rife with nepotism and favouritism...elected officials rarely take a fall for making problematic appointments....our democracy has been subverted by interest groups which would never get elected...and even if they did...they would not stay elected very long. For the first time in our history elected officials are afraid to say what they think because of the wrath of appointees who are members of a political party that is not even registered as a political party and self appointed political correction gauleiters impersonating journalists.

I had almost reached a point of giving up on free speech...because it seemed like nobody was listening.

Gravatar Googling Farhan Chak brought me to this page on this site, where, none other than our old friend the Right Honorable Syed Sowhardy, Supreme Commander and Self Appointed Head Honcho of the Intergalactic Supreme Islamic Council of the Universe posted this letter :

The conflict in Indonesia between Christians and Muslims has been blown out of proportion once again by the media which now seems to be going after Indonesia. The fanatics are trying to break up the largest Muslim country in the world by playing up local problems and presenting them as a major conflict between Christianity and Islam.

The media in the west often claims itself to be independent. The truth is that it enjoys total independence so far as presenting one-sided, biased and hateful images of Muslims is concerned. It would not be wrong to say that while the state and the government control the media in the Third World, money, interest groups, and the corporate world exercise control over the media in the West.

For the last two weeks a program titled ‘100 Huntley Street’ has been promoting nothing but hatred against Muslims and Islam on Global TV in Calgary. The host of the program has acquired the services of a person who claims that he was a Muslim before he converted to Christianity. This person cites Qur’anic verses out of context and makes fun of them. Clips from Shaikh Ahmed Deedat’s old speeches are also cited out of context to create confusion. The host and the producers of 100 Huntley Street do not have the courage to have a Muslim on the show who could defend Islam and rebut unfounded claims about its teachings. We are trying to contact Shaikh Ahmed Deedat andr his organization in this regard. Please help us in establishing our rapport with Shaikh Deedat in South Africa.

Gravatar Actually that web site is a treasure trove.

Here is Sowhardy crying about Bill C15 because "The Bill allows CSIS to supply the Solicitor General and Minister of National Revenue with secret evidence against the charity. The charity is only given a summary of the information and will not have the opportunity to cross-examine the information for its accuracy and truth. The right to a fair hearing will be meaningless;

Highly politicized secret evidence gathered from foreign states and agencies could be used against the charity. Only a summary would be presented to the charity (if at all);

The charity has no right to an appeal"

http://www.pakistanlink.com/Lett.../May/04/ 03.html

The irony is striking ... after all this is exactly what this ass did when he went to the HRC.

Gravatar Jauhara - no kidding

"you take the blue pill and the story ends. You wake in your bed and you believe whatever you want to believe.

You take the red pill and you stay

deep the rabbit-hole goes."

I think that most of us who are following Ezras blog have all swallowed the red pill - now if we can just wake up the rest of Canada and get them to do the same...!

...

Gravatar MAUS: Freedom of speech impacts all of us; people/groups from the left and right have been hit with HRC complaints.

The only thing I would like to point out is that Jewish groups like the CJC and B'nai Brith Canada have also used these tribunals to silence criticism of their people and even Israel in one case.

This is not strictly Muslims using these HR commissions just to point this out.

Gravatar I'd like to point out that ardent Catholics don't seem to be using these HRCommissions nearly enough...

Gravatar Frank, Just to clairify...my moniker of "MAUS" is not in reference to Art Speigelman's graphic novels..that's just a funny co-incidence...I am not Jewish..the name was just randomly picked when I signed on to a gamer hub and exhausted other alternatives...the thing you move the cursor around your computer screen is a "maus" in German.

I am a men's rights activist but I hate that label. It's not even about me so much as it is about my grand children.

Outcry against perceived injustice, against perceived abuse of authority, against perceived abuse of public funds cannot be construed as criminal nor as harrassment.

If that is let go...really that is the end of lawyers, judges, legislators and due legal process.

Gravatar This is just plain scary.

I don't doubt your facts: you are meticulous in documenting them. But I just find it painful to wrap my brain around this...

I just hope this is some early April fool's post! Yeah, I know better....but I wish I didn't.

Anybody got a sandbox I could stick my head into? That is, one that is not too crowded already...

Gravatar Usually I donate to the Conservative party (Federal and Provincial) with my credit card. This year I asked to have the donation forms mailed to me. I responded to both today by returning their pledge forms with no money enclosed. I did send a letter stating that I no longer feel comfortable donating, until the governments responsible for allowing the tyranny of the Human Rights Com. to continue, does something to correct this wrong. If they are not aware of why the people that pay for this injustice are so upset, I refured them to this blog.
Thank you for the opportunity to keep informed and keep up the good work Ezra.
