Seattle is a great city. Seattle and Portland have both settled comfortably into their own niche.

if you get time to explore, the Amtrak Cascades is a good value. It regularly (and pretty reliably) runs from Seattle to Eugene.

You should take the train there! Granted it will take much longer, but how cool it would be to take a nice train ride clear across the U.S.?
