remember this can affect restaurants as well -- I almost always order turkey burgers if available, and never buy ground beef for home, always ground turkey. If you do buy ground beef, cook it well done and not rare or medium...
All good advice Donna though I haven't gotten on the turkey bandwagon yet. I like turkey fine but the ground turkey doesn't do much for me. I use turkey cutlets now and again instead of veal and it works pretty well.

DO blame the producer. Taint their fault!
Nothing protects the consumer perfectly, but I find stories like this yet another incentive to be vegetarian.
These continuing stories do make it much easier to walk by the meat case in the grocery Steve.
I suppose the price of steak these days has caused many people to go to ground... <gdrvvf />
