Gravatar Heh… my bro Solar is looking after Mom's plants while she escapes Florida for the summer. She was expecting to come home to a bunch of dead plants last year, but he took them to his place & they did fine. His cat fell in love with a lily, other than that no prob.

Here's hoping you & George get some rest. I know dogs never get tired of barking, but I'm sure both of you could use some downtime right now.

Gravatar Hi FM. So you decided not to go, eh. Well, I can't say your reasons aren't good ones. I think I'd prefer the rest, peace and quiet and I'm sure George will like having you to himself again. As for the other stuff, gee I hope that it's all getting worked out and that you're feeling better.

Gravatar Hiya FAR,

It amazing to me how constant noise and running around can tire me out now of days. Just to give an example, last night when I got up to get water, I'm going by the bedroom where my great niece and her friend are supposed to be sleeping. They're both awake and jumping from a dresser to the bed. My brother and sil are asleep in their room so I had to be the adult and tell them to stop doing that and to get to sleep. Actually I wished I hadn't said anything because I remember as a kid how much fun it was to jump up and down on the bed.

However, as I said peace and quiet will be very welcomed.

Gravatar Hi Olivia, it's nice to see you.

Yep the rest, peace and quiet will be nice even if it will be only a week. I was telling Coneflower the other day that I'm ready for winter. What about you?

I've been feeling so-so lately. The dental extractions I had done last week have sort of been making me feel miserable. The new denture I have fits fine, but around where the extractions were done just won't stop aching. I wrote over at the Cafe that this also happened about a month ago with some other extractions, so I'll give this another week and it should calm down - I hope.

I hope you're doing good and you're enjoying all your plants.

Take care

FM

Gravatar Hi FM. I'm so happy you're having your own vacation (while everyone else is in Florida). As you said, you love your family, but peace and quiet is much appreciated too. You and George will have a great time, I'm sure.

BTW, how is Cat? Haven't heard anything about him lately.

Hope all your other doctors are behaving and doing their job for you like they're supposed to. If not, let me know and I'll send them one of my "special" letters.

You have a good weekend too.

Gravatar Hi CF,

I figure I deserve the peace and quiet because I've been putting up with a lot of noise here lately.

Both Cat and Tom disappeared on us before FMom passed away. Tom was always an outside cat and showed up for food. He would be gone for long periods, but one time he just never showed back up. I put Cat out one evening and when I went looking for her I never could find her. I drove all over the neighborhood and town and never did find her. I don't know if she wondered off and someone picked her up (she was extremely friendly to anyone around), or if some animal got her. I really hated that for both of them because both FMom and I had become very attached to them.

With the doctors I'm sure if I threaten them with one of your "special" letters they'll buck right into shape.

Hope you're doing good and have a good w/e.

Take care,

FM

Gravatar Ready for winter?! We haven't even started summer yet! The heat came on the other night ... :-O

Hope the pain goes away quickly!

Gravatar The heat might have come on the other night for you, but it has been here for awhile. This morning at 9:00 am it was already 87F/30C. I know this is nothing to Manny, but it's already to hot for me. Actually I'm looking forward to October. Down here that's the time it's not to hot and not to cold.

Hopefully by next week the mouth should be feeling better. Thanks for the thoughts.

Gravatar Yeah, FM, but Manny doesn't have the humidity that you (or I) do. "it's a dry heat!"

Gravatar Enjoy the peace and quiet, FM!

Watering ferns every day?!! Personally I would not water them more than twice a week. I've got lots of plants, none of which get water more than once a week. However, if they are outside more watering might be needed.

Gravatar Hiya FAR

Yeah I've always heard about dry heat, but I've never been in. I'm going to have a talk with Manny and tell him to stop complaining.

Gravatar Hiya Boran,

She keeps them outside and with the heat down here I guess they do need the water. But like I said, it's no telling how they will look once she gets back.

Gravatar Hi FM. Are you all blissed out with all the peace and quiet? How's everything going down there? (Toe starting to tap....)

Gravatar Toes tapping in earnest now. And while I'm at it, have you heard anything from Olivia or IVG? Are you guys all in cahoots to drive me crazy?

[timid smile]

Gravatar FamilyMan, there is such a thing as too much peace and quiet...

Hope everything is fine with you.

Gravatar Where have I been all of your blog life? Just found you today, and I love your blog. Thanks for sharing your life.

Gravatar So interesting.

Gravatar Hi CF!

OK you can stop the toe tapping. Well at least for now.

Hope you've been doing fine.

FM

Gravatar Hello Ann,

Here's a hearty hello to you. Sorry it took awhile to get back to you, but I'm so very happy you dropped by.

I hope you are doing well and thanks again for dropping by.

Take care

FM

Gravatar Hiya CG,

FamilyMan, there is such a thing as too much peace and quiet...

After a few years of knowing me you should know that there's never too much peace and quiet.

I hope you and the family are doing well.

Take care

FM
