"I'd like to see a say, Captain America fighting in Iraq, rather than the 'Ultimate' Cap being pictured as an 'Imperial' Bully as he is throughout Ultimates 2..."
You get the Captain America you deserve. Gung-ho and belligerent, perfect for the MISSION ACCOMPLISHED generation.
Also, he's clearly not very well. Not very well people can be vvv grumpy.
Also, WHERE'S MY REVIEW COPY OF COMBAT ZONE, Marvel?!
...this is because I won a teddy bear at that Marxist Tombola, isn't it?
IT WAS EITHER THAT OR A "WORKER'S CUCKOO CLOCK!"

Ultimate Cap's noYou know, no matter how vile the enemy forces may be, no matter how morally and ethically sound the position of the invading troops, I've got to imagine that a heavily muscled man who walks up and hits you really hard with a fucking shield is going to come off like kind of a jerk. First impressions and all...

I've received two emails so far from a review of this I posted on Amazon on Tuesday, one relatively polite in its disagreement, the other calling me "stupid and ignorant." All because I said the damn thing was boring! Which it is.

"Most people who would try to have their children read Bill Bennett's material probably won't even let their children go near a typical comic shop."
They will let them visit the dog track and the casino, however.

Is the problem that some people see agendas where there are none, that some people see one agenda being pushed to the exclusion of all others, that some people see agendas being pushed to the exclusion of their agenda, or that some people are just plain don't believe in free speech?
And do people who object to stories with overtly gay characters/themes in them read the X-MEN, or is that too close to pushing the Queer Agenda?

The only way I'd support a "Captain America goes to Iraq" storyline is if it was a crossover story with "Days of Our Lives" where Captain America, Sami Brady, and the Four Asshats of the Apocalypse go into Iraq to imfamous Real World cast member Kyle Brandt from the DiMera Crime Syndicate and the League of Eurotrash Villains, led by Sat-Yr-9 and Viper, who've set up shop in Iraq and are illegally pumping oil for the super-villain black market (cause every war machine needs oil you know).
Bonus points if USAgent pulls a Victor/Victoria where he's pretending to be a woman pretending to be a man so as to help Sami out in terms of playing the DiMera syndicate/Viper and Sat-Yr-9 and Cap and the Four Asshats against each other for shits and giggles and double bonus points for Captain America beating George W and Dick Cheney up so badly they are put into permenant Terry Schiavo comas before agreeing to go on the mission. And a gold star if the burned corpses of Stefano DiMera and Bucky Barnes comes to life all of a sudden and start brawling ala Peter Griffin and the Giant Chicken from Family Guy...

I still say Ultimate Cap's overcompensating because he's the traitor. Jesse isn't running the industry for the same reason I'm not, the industy would be destoryed by random pumpkin kites.

"Did you see this link on Tom's site this morning, by any chance?"
pfft. The author fails to mention that Conservative Paranoia immobilizes Liberal Counterpoint. It's difficult to argue against someone whose initial stance includes the occlusion of reality. The liberal response to this, after befuddlement, is to feel that they are arguing from a standpoint of such superiority that they are satisfied without even engaging their adversary. I win again.

You know, I try to give military books a fair shake - I grew up with G.I. Joe and Tom Clancy novels - but this was the single most boring comic I've read since...
...
...I have no idea. The dialogue felt like it came from the same scriptwriter who runs those Army ads about the young lads deciding to Be His Own Man And Get Shot At For Freedom. The art was Finchian, which insulted me, and the propaganda bits rubbed me the wrong way.

Don't ask me. Ask these people:
Ann Coulter: "we have the media now."

Bill O'Reilly: "Don't believe the right-wing ideologues when they tell you the left still controls the media agenda. It does not any longer. It's a fact."
