I haven't been too impressed with VK either this year. I don't believe I will be renewing my subscription later this year and will opt for something different.

It's absolutely darling on you! That color red is also just a super choice. I'm sorry about all the frustration with this pattern and I'm surprised (unpleasantly) to hear they are that unresponsive. Only such an experienced knitter as yourself could have finished and still like the sweater - LOL Wear it in good health! Oh, yeah. Toby is adorable!!!

I hear you with the Vogue issues... I have a friend who works there, and I know they are overworked. For ex, there are 3 tech editors for IK, but only ONE for Vogue/Knit One/Knit Simple. I wish they could hire more people and have a better product, because, as you have noticed, it is super frustrating to have to deal with poorly written patterns!
My subscription ran out with that issue too, and I didn't renew due to having had two years where the most animated I'd got looking through each issue was a very occasional 'well, that's quite nice'. Though strangely I went to my knitting group this morning and someone waved the new copy of Vogue at me and there were things I'd actually consider. Though not if the instructions are that poor.
Anyway, the rubbishness of VK apart, the jacket looks fabulous on you and the colour is great. Well done you for sticking with it, it would have ended up abandoned behind the sofa it it were me.
It's really gorgeous. I don't think I saw this one coming, so it was a nice surprise. It seems like lots of folks have issues with VK patterns - I have never subscribed, and probably never will, for this very reason.
I know exactly how you feel about Vogue--I let my subscription lapse last year because there just wasn't much in it that I was interested in..

Amanda, it is such a fantastic knit! The color suits you perfectly, the cables are so luxurious, and all your hard work and stress and hair-pulling paid off!

Good Lord - with all of those modifications/corrections, no wonder you're frustrated. Still - it's nice to have a beautiful FO to show for having your subscription. As you said - now it's expired and you can move on! Great color on you too!

Your effort was definitely worth while- the sweater is beautiful. I wish that VK would improve. Some of their patterns are lovely, but I'm worried to try them.

I love it but what a pity that the magazine didnt take the time to check the pattern properly. It always makes me wonder why they print it in the first place if they dont want the responsibility of writing back to you with corrections.
wow, great job! it looks great on you! i'm sorry to hear about your troubles with vogue knitting. i've never bought even one issue because i don't like the way the magazine is laid out, and their patterns never really call out to me. i don't have any experience with the way the patterns are written, but now i think i'll be even more likely to stay away.
well, it looks like your struggles were worth it...it's just gorgeous! I've heard that a lot of the Vogue patterns are tricky.

I haven`t renewed my subscription either. There was nothing I wanted to knit in the last few issues and I thought if there is one cute pattern I have to have, I can always buy the issue at bookstore.

You can look at it this way. It is a great knit to bid adieu to VK.
The wait to see what you were working on was well worth it! MAYBE Vogue is just taking a long time getting back to you because they are putting together a job offer... Lord knows you could write your OWN magazine that would be of much better quality than Vogue!

I have yet to knit anything from Vogue. I like the designs a lot of the time, though.
I love the collar on that jacket but it is awfully far off your shoulders. That would be a pain.
Those mods are amazing. I don't know if I would have persevered.
And, lastly - Classic Al again! My favourite yarn!
Yikes! Sounds like way too many problems with that pattern. I think that is probably fairly typical of vogue. That is why I like IK so much better.
But, besides all that, the jacket turned out great! I think you did a fabulous job.
Sorry you had so many problems with the patterns. The finished result is amazing and I love that red. Hopefully you'll love the end result.

The jacket is lovely. I really like the open neckline and the cape collar. I'm sorry, though, for all the extra work you had to do to make this design!

Wow- it looks like a work of art....I suppose that's kind of what Vogue garments are supposed to be. Sounds like a real bear to figure out- only one as talented as you could make it look so great!

You can always go to a shop and browse the new VK and buy it only if you actually find anything that you like.

Well Amanda it looks fabulous! I'm sure after all that frustration you'd want to know that But oh, I feel your pain about deciphering a pattern you've paid for. I'd love to know how the Classic AL is standing up to wear.
