Oh hooray! The cowl arrived! I'm delighted you like it...you've been so kind with all the generous extras you send me I wanted to share some of the fun, especially now that I have a huuuuge skein to play with. And did I mention how much I love that colorway?
Congratulations on a prize winning and fun weekend..well except for the lack of coffee. I'd have to keep running back to the thermos in the car.
I won yarn? Spun by y'all? Ooooooh. Can't wait. Let me know wh tyou need from me. An address? Maybe?
As for the coffee thing at the fair...wouldn't it make more sense that ifit is at sall possible to get locally, then it mus tbe local but if not, then okay, get non-local. For coffee at least? Isn't that the lifeblood of civilation? at least, I get less civilized without it!
I went as a consumer a few years ago, and wondered, on the long hike from the parking lot to the fair ground, WHY there were these odd-looking folks hawking coffee and pulled pork at the ends of their -- driveways? Dirt roads? And then Keith tried to find coffee on the fairground, and was offered a free sample of locally grown milk. The look on his face as he staggered away from the wholesome-looking milk lady, glazed-eyed and dazed, was priceless. Free milk? Sure, if I can have a cup of coffee with it. It was very funny. Luckily we had already had a good cup of coffee at the B & B we were staying at, so we weren't in danger of dying from caffeine withdrawal. Or, well, I wasn't. Keith, on the other hand...I guess next time I will have to pack a thermos for him! Me, I can last until the next Dunkin Donuts appears in the distance, just as long as I have had my morning fix. Yeah. Fix. I'm a java-head. I could have worse vices...
Congrats on the prize, and am so glad you had a good fair. As far as the coffee goes, I suppose sneaking some in with the label changed to "Dandelion Root Coffee" would be out of the question?
Josette- Coffee is a problem for me- because I rarely drink it, when I do it has to be a really good one, and Starbucks and Second Cup always disappoint.
Ah, the life of a connissuer is not easy.
Next year I will bring a super-insulated thermos of coffee to the fair... 
It was fantastic seeing you as well, though I can't believe that for the *second time* I didn't drag out the camera and get photographic evidence. Ah well, another day.
Wish I'd had time to see everything there - it's my favorite fair by far!
