Now that I've worked in a call center, I feel bad if I hang up. But then again, I feel bad for stringing them along. So, I revert back to #1 and hang up. Heh.

Andy Rooney has the best advice for dealing telemarketers. Just put the phone down and walk away, don't hang up, just put it down and let them figure it out.

Actually I've taken a page from my father who will actively debate the merit of telemarketing for as long as he can with the telemarketer. He's a genious at breaking their wills.

There is that. I used to pretend to be the most excited person ever. Lots of Wows and No Ways! And then finally just letting them know that there's no way I'd ever buy anything from them. Then ask them if they enjoyed having their time wasted. And then letting them know that that's exactly how they make everyone else feel. Guilt them into leaving me alone!
