The genesis of this post: I heard a political commentator note that a man came to Washington worth a mere 40 thousand dollars who is now a millionaire. We don't pay our public servants that much, so how did it happen?
It happened because the heart of man is never satisfied with enough.
It happened because man is drawn to power, believing that that is where he will find the security and success I mentioned in the post. But it's all a pyrite, a fool's gold that draws them. And that is sad.
