Warning! Trolls are mocked and/or turned into puppets here! Do not troll these fine dry waters!

Gravatar I guess you might have guessed that I'm a Braves fan. I started following the Atlanta Braves on WTBS in 1989-TBS is no longer the exclusive home of the Braves, but I can still catch plenty of baseball in a season. Play Ball!

Gravatar I had the entire 1955 Brooklyn Dodgers lineup baseball cards including one Jackie Robinson rookie card. And I had them in 1955. It broke my heart when they left Brooklyn.

I remember the Braves from Boston, then Milwaukee, finally Atlanta.

Nice writing Doug, any piece which includes baseball and God has to be good. After all, He began the Bible with the words, In the big inning...

Gravatar Hi Allan-I hope that you are enjoying a nice Spring. I just now discovered a neat Baseball History podcast-I'm getting it through iTunes, but the website is: http://bhp.libsyn.com/

Gravatar Hi,
stumbled across your blog today via a google search for isaiah 26:3, and i am truly blessed reading it. will return from time to time.
God bless you.
Michele.

Gravatar Like the new format!

Gravatar Go Yankees.

Gravatar Welcome to Michele, and welcome back to Pat, even with the mention of affirmation for the pinstripers. I've been cheering on the Bosox for a few years now, so there you go.
I'm glad you like the format, le-I was in the mood to put up new drapes or something.
Michele,it hadn't occurred to me that someone might find us through googling Scripture-mighty cool! I looked and found that the reference was from a post in 2005. We have nearly 400 posts already at FDW, which is a bit staggering to me.
May God Bless you all.

Gravatar If it weren't for the Yankees, I would probably be a Red Sox fan. I liked Ted Willimas (yes, I am old enough to have seen him play), the Yaz & Fiske.
I am glad baseball is colorblind. It wasn't at one time. Ditto for football.
I like the Bible passage about there being neither Greek, nor Jew, nor gentile... it is a precious passage.

Gravatar This might not mean much to some, but I saw Carlton Fisk up close once-at the final MLB Spring Training games in Las Vegas, Fisk's final year with the White Sox. I was right behind the plate, a pop-up went straight up into the air-Fisk and I were facing each other with the screen between us; either he was going to get that ball, or I would. He got the ball, but I had a big grin on my face.
"27For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise."
Galatians 3:27-29 Precious indeed, Pat. I've heard it said that a common Pharisee's prayer was to thank God for not making him a Gentile, a slave, or a woman.

Gravatar Was it my free will or did God predestine me to be a Yankees fan? LOL
