God's Love: Don't leave home without it!

Gravatar I took the picture this morning, April 6th, 2008 before church. When I was heading out to the evening service, it was snowing again, although it's now turned to rain. I love it!

Gravatar I passed by a church today which had this sign out front:
"Most of us want to serve God, but only in the capacity of advisers."

Gravatar So, if you don't mind me asking, what makes you different? I appreciate that you admit you're flawed as is the rest of the human race. However, why do you feel you'll gain entrance into eternal happiness instead of others who will (according to your beliefs) suffer in some unimaginable way because they didn't have the right ideas about God or pray in the right manner?

Why does God forgive you and not forgive others?

Gravatar James, it comes from believing in God:
"14What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? May it never be! 15For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” 16So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy."
Romans 9:14-16
Flawed hardly covers it. I have no idea why God chose to have compassion on me.
I am not good enough to 'earn' Heaven; it doesn't depend on my will, how I live, where I go to church, or how I run. It depends only on God Who has mercy.
