God's Love: Don't leave home without it!

May God richly bless you today. I've had David's prayer in 1 Chronicles opened on my Quickverse program for a while now, and am reading about the Sovereignty of God in a few different places.
Don't buy into the idea of a strawman god, easily knocked over, who is not Sovereign. That is the creation of fearful men who reject the God they dare not acknowledge.
Trust God, not man.

I'm often puzzled by the notion of how God's will is manifest in this world.
Scripture says that Satan is "the prince of this world" (John 12:31, 14:30) until the judgment. This would seem to imply that God has relinquished control over at least some elements of this world and that, at least for the time being, things can occur that are outside of His will.

Your puzzlement is answered in God's Sovereignty, James.
If anything could occur outside of His Will...then He wouldn't be Sovereign.
You look at the world which is in terrible shape and conclude that God must not be powerful enough to keep sin, pain and suffering from happening.
What you are seeing in this troubled world is the mud stirred up by the very 'prince of this world' mentioned in the verses you noted.
He is a defeated loser, who will pay for every evil he has inflicted this world with.
Notice how limited his power is: 'prince of this world'.
Without getting all theological, God is in control of everything, and has not relinquished any control to a tinpot prince.
Then why does God allow suffering, allow that entity to stir up mud?
Love. Because God so loved the world, He sent His Son to redeem it, to put an end to the suffering, to make it possible for some to return to fellowship with God.
"Scripture says that Satan is "the prince of this world"
it also says:"10And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." Revelation 20:10
James, in Matthew 13:24-30 Jesus explains in a parable about the Kingdom of God, and the enemy who sows tares among the wheat. It explains, if you can understand it, why God allows the evil to remain present in the world...for now.

Ann has written another fine article:

Note to James-God is Sovereign even in the horrible act of Abortion. Killing of innocents, whether in the womb or out in the world will bring judgment on those who are guilty, unless those guilty persons comes to Christ for forgiveness. There is no hidden sin.

Per several of the posts on this site, it seems that heaven and hell is a central point in this Christianity.
My question is, did David go to heaven or hell when he died? He clearly wasn't Christian, as nobody was in the Old Testament. Or do you believe all Jews go to heaven?
Its been my experience that this version of Christianity is only sustainable in very segmented parts of the population (parts of Tennessee and Georgia for instance). I find it incredible that it would exist for any real length of time on the Internet, where multiple perspectives are available with matching faces that talk back.
I pray for you Doug, I wish you good luck on your journey my friend.

Fred, what you read into something, what you take out of something, doesn't always jibe with what is actually there-whatever you think, have a good day.

Hi Doug. I'm not sure what you mean there?
My original question was, where did the Jews of the old testament go when they died (or David specifically), as they were not Christian?
Also, I like your question on the May 26th post. I am wondering if you have ever taken the time to do a similar thing from your perspective? What are positive Hindu characteristics like for instance? Or positive Jewish or Muslim characteristics?
Thanks for being open,
