God's Love: Don't leave home without it!

Gravatar my favorite sitcom can be found if you go back to the front page and click on the "Wha"

Gravatar Having gone through Dachau, this is not funny. Many thousands of people died there at the hands of Nazis. As much as I detest what Obama and his cohorts are doing to our country, this is inappropriate.

Gravatar Not meant to be funny, Pat. If it offended you, I'm sorry. It is indeed inappropriate. If I were a nicer person, I would have found some less objectionable way to make the point, but here I am.
"Work shall set you free."
And if we all work for the Government, and He IS the Government, we all work for him.
Obama, if given enough free reign, would become just as bad a despot as Hitler. It's human nature to push others as far as you can until somebody pushes back.
With the media and Congress in his pocket, there are few pushing back. The only ones standing in his way are the American people who did not vote for him. He already acts as if we are the enemy, ones which need to be vanquished and silenced.
If Obama continues with his power unchecked, we Conservatives and non-Obamanites may soon have much in common with the Jews of Germany under Hitler, who saw the country they loved changed, becoming a country which considered them enemies of the State.
Again, Pat-it isn't supposed to be funny. I believe that Obama could become another Hitler. He certainly seems to be following in his footsteps, when it comes to gaining power.

Gravatar What I'm talking about:
http://michellemalkin.com/
I'd love to be wrong about Obama. But he keeps proving me right.

Gravatar Oh come on, Doug. "As bad as Hitler?"
Where are the pogroms, the concentration camps? When Jews and/or anyone else is being herded off in trains, being gassed and executed, then you can say he's as bad as Hitler.

Don't forget, evangelical Chuck Baldwin has been complaining for YEARS about Bushie and his increasing the powers of the central government.

http://www.newswithviews.com/bal.../ baldwin340.htm

I'm not sure, but I don't recall you complaining then. Bush's policies were then seen as "necessary".

Gravatar James, you have a talent for finding "evangelicals" whom I've never heard of.
"Where are the pogroms{you must mean Russia-1890's-1917}, the concentration camps? When Jews and/or anyone else is being herded off in trains, being gassed and executed, then you can say he's as bad as Hitler."
Yes. As bad as Hitler, if he is able to disable opposition to his ambitions.
As bad as Mussolini.
As bad as Castro.
As bad as Caesar.
As bad as Caligula.
As bad as Nero.
As bad as Domitan.
As bad as every ambitious person who ever gained and held power.
Because he is young, just starting out, you think he is not like any of his predessesors?

Gravatar He is a flawed man, to be sure, Doug. But I don't see the seething vitriol and hatred coming from him that was so evident in these very evil men you compare him to.

Hitler hypnotized a nation into believing that the rise of Germany could only be gained by not only blaming but eliminating an entire class of people. Where do you see this rhetoric coming from Obama? Can you find one reference?

Rather, it seems he's made some effort in reaching across the aisle. Did he not have Rick Warren at his inauguration? He could have ended it there. Instead, he also appointed Christian Francis Collins to head the National Institute of Health (to the chagrin of many atheists).

Now, I can't see the future. It may certainly be possible that his power may blind him to his own faults and failures. This remains to be seen. Thus far, though, the notion that he's a crazed despot wannabe who's just waiting to throw anyone who threatens him into an oven the size of Texas sounds just a bit far-fetched to me. (BTW, I thought it was equally as ridiculous to cast Bush in this negative of a light as well.)

Gravatar James,I encourage you to follow this link to the wiki for Hitler, which gives a slight overview of his life.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ado...ki/ Adolf_Hitler

I never called Obama a 'crazed despot wannabe'. I don't think he's crazy, or a wannabe.
James, you're looking at Hitler in hindsight. Compare Obama with Hitler during his rise to power-Hitler becoming Chancellor in 1933, Obama President in 2009.
If it sounds crazy to you, fine. I don't care. My point remains the same-greed for power unchecked, unhindered by political opposition, will cause a man to become a despot.
We have plenty of such cases around the globe right now. Honduras just rid themselves of a wannabe dictator-Zelaya wanted to be President for Life. The Obama Admin is on his side, against the wishes of the Honduran people.

"Where do you see this rhetoric coming from Obama? Can you find one reference?"
Do you mean besides blaming President Bush for everything?
Or his suggesting that a white cop 'acted stupidly' when confronted with one of his black friends?
Or his lament to the sophisticates in San Francisco about the small town Americans bitterly clinging to their guns and religion?
How about his playing the race card during the campaign, suggesting that white people wouldn't feel comfortable voting for him because he doesn't look like all the other Presidents on our money?
Or(these are all just off the top of my head)that they wouldn't vote for him because he has 'a funny name'?
Call it whatever, James, but Obama has been a divider, not a uniter. His answer when asked if he would meet the Conservatives halfway, work as a bipartisan President: "I won." Meaning that he doesn't have to listen to anyone. Which is my point.
No opposition means no restraint on his ego, and his ego and pride have already fouled him up.

Gravatar How does saying someone "acted stupidly" imply that the speaker is going to become a despot?

Are you saying that you've never said something harsher than that in your life? By the way, Obama's invited both Gates and the officer to meet to attempt to resolve the issue. How is this evidence of being a "divider"?

As far as him playing the "race card", what he stated was a fact.
http://www.splcenter.org/blog/20...ng-more-heated/

"“OBAMA WILL DIE, KKK FOREVER,” concludes a Feb. 15 post by “Rodney” to a blog run by a person identified only as Strider333. Above that signoff, Rodney wrote: “The KKK or someone WILL assassinate Obama! If we get a NI**ER President all you NI**ER’s [sic] will think you’ve won and that the WHITE people will have to bow to you[.] F*** THAT.”"

And somehow, Obama's the crazy one?

Gravatar Believe whatever you like, James.
Again-I didn't say that Obama was crazy. You're the one that keeps bringing that up.
As for your quote which you attribute to some Rodney guy-that type of crazy has no place here at FDW, and you won't find that language being used here.
