He should've retreated to a safe place and dialed 911 before being stabbed to death.

He should've cooperated with the criminal and handed over the carton of milk, because that's all the perp wanted anyway.

He should've demanded that rehabiliatory prisons be built.

This wouldn't have happened if stabbing weapons were banned from having flash suppressors, pistol grips, folding stocks or high capacity magazines.

He should apply for a carry permit now that he has demonstrated a need for personal protection.

All worthless and dare I say "insensitive" suggestions, but hey, this is the crap I have to hear from air-heads whenever I ask nicely about our inalienable right to protect ourselves with any weapon of our choosing.

This makes me think about the multitude of "weapons" that are banned on NYC streets. Screwdrivers, for example. In fact, considering all the sharp and "dangerous" objects banned, the activities banned, and even the government-restricted dietary choices, it occurs to me that NYC is pretty much one gigantic insane asylum. The aldermen and the mayor, being special cases, get their own rooms away from everyone else.
