One method that DOES seem possible is he was showing it off to a co-worker, probably female and she had it pointed at the guy and her finger on the trigger.

For some nebulous reason, journaljisemers pretty much frig up every last story concerning a firearm so who know what truly went down.

One thing is for certain. The gun did not suddenly decide to fire just to see what it was like to shoot a load.
