I'll acknowledge that I was pretty skeptical of Schwarzenegger's chances at the beginning. But I think that over time I have moved to a position of, say, guarded optimism. I still don't think he will be remembered as one of history's greatest governors, but I think now that he's more likely to be remembered as good than bad. I do fear that the budget will still sink him, depsite the modest gains he's made there. But ultimately, I agree, based on my casual observance, that at least he's been able to do something, which is more than Gray Davis could say. |
