No requests just yet. However, the good news is that A) I once again have a working computer at home and B) 10 solid months of non-stop work overtime and house projects are starting to wind down.

Somewhat apropos of your remarks on getting a better class of student at Duke:

What do you think of "single sanction" systems of punishment, particularly on undergraduate campuses? As a UVA student, I thought it was exceedingly stupid to have only one punishment -- explusion -- available that would be imposed on every student found guilty by the Honor Court, not least because this led to a ridiculous level of jury nullification. Few non-Honor-Court types were willing to wreck another student's life by having him expelled, even if he clearly had lied, cheated or stolen.

Sorry, Cheech, I can't think of any Mother's Day stories. My family has never been big on ceremonies and making fusses, so I usually just send a card. Nothing sweet or funny really stands out. Sorry I can't help you. And you're going to have to ask Fitz directly for another recipe.
