I teach people how to monetize Twitter, and I have several success stories I can point to, including my own.
For example, every time I host a teleseminar that teaches people how to generate publicity online or offline, I tweet about it, and link to the sign-up page. Now here's where the power of Twitter really comes into play:
Some of my followers, who might not be interested in the topic, know that people who follow THEM might be. So they tweet about it. That means I, and others who Twitter, are in a position to get our message in front of thousands and perhaps even millions of people who are not following us directly.
Twitter is an incredibly powerful promotion tool, particularly when used in conjunction with Facebook. The most important thing to remember, however, is that before you can start using thes social networking sites to promote, you must:
--Join the conversation
--Actively participate and don't tweet only when you want to promote something.
--Give more than you get. That means offering lots of free advice, linking to other people's articles, and helping Twitterers solve their problems when they reach out for help.
