They tried to do a hell house in this town a few years back and the parents of the kids who got tricked into going and then freaked out got so mad they got the city to pass some kind of ordinance against it.
I love the documentary. Especially the newlyweds bragging about how they waited until marriage to have sex like they are SO self-controlled and they're like, 12.
I thought it was weird, in the comic they have on the Hollywood Hell House site, that the sound effect for the rape is "rape rape". It made me giggle. I feel bad about giggling, yet giggle I did.
First, the Spidey crayon thing is many, many Good Things. Second, that funnie does not blog also causes me discomfort, and I get antsy when she goes on vacations and isn't near a computer. Third, maybe we can take our kids to Hollywood as though we're trying to farm them out for work in commercials (we have cute kids, right?) and see the Hell House while we're there! Haha!
Maybe we ought to start a blog about funnie and refuse to stop hounding her and talking about her wonderfulness until she is so uncomfortable that she just starts blogging, already.

where did you get the info about david cross and friends doing the hellhouse? i looked and looked on the website and got nothing. is it really true?

One of my coworkers, wait no, two, used to participate in a local hell house every year at Halloween. And every year they tried to get all of us to go and none of us ever did. I guess they must be a popular thing in the bible belt - I know of at least one other local church that has one.
Apparently at the end of their church's version, the "good" people go to heaven (all white and fluffy and little kids dressed as angels) and the bad people go to hell (not sure how they depicted it).
It always sounded creepy and weird to me. Besides, if I want scary Halloween stuff, Universal Studios has Halloween Horror Nights. Good stuff. And lots of beer.

I'll have to rent "Hell House," but I doubt I'll find it anywhere around here. Why does it remind me of "Reefer Madness"?

Well, as you know, flea, the Hell House I went to featured a real live Cessna crashed on top of a real live Corolla, with real flames coming out of them both. So Cross, Silverman, & Co. have much to live up to (and oodles of fire codes to circumvent). I wonder if cityfolk could even mount a decent production. Not that I'm not curious, because I too would love to go. But between the special effects and the fact that the concept is self-satirizing, it sounds like a difficult project.
And, geez, who needs a blog when you can apparently get your 15 minutes of blogfame anyway?

I saw the Hell House DVD in a shop once & I immediately recognised it from funnie's posts. This is how I know I've spent too much time on BBs.
