Another reason people like to read blogs that aren't political is that we get to go places and learn things we never would otherwise. For instance, I just visited the porn superstore, and I would never have been able to do that without you. Additionally, I wasn't even aware of the gnome loving Waldorfs, and now, if I see one, I'll be sure to keep a chair between us.
Not to mention that life encompasses more than the political. Which sounds a bit like saying, "Hey, did you know the sky is blue? Most of the time?" but perhaps John the Interviewer's forgotten about stuff like skies. Maybe he should read more non-political blogs.
Thank you for posting about Aaron. I read his blog periodically but hadn't checked it in awhile. If you hadn't posted I never would have known.
Yeah, it had been a few weeks since I'd gone over there myself. Evidently, he'd been depressed for awhile.
Thank you for the link to Aaron. You are the fourth unrelated blogger to relay this news. I am amazed at the impact this man had during his life.
I think of this as a political blog. Maybe I'm just weird like that.

Ellie, I believe he committed suicide, but I don't have any details. The funeral is on Tuesday. Wendy at www.pound.com has a link to a friend of his who wrote in more detail about him.

My mother doesn't understand blogs either. I tell her that it's like reading Bridget Jones or Adrian Mole books except that bloggers are real people who for the most part aren't twits. She's not convinced, but that's fine because she'll never find my blog.
OMG. I saw this initially and didn't click b/c I thought he had just given up blogging. I was another person who read Uppity-Negro occasionally, and loved its voice and viewpoint.
