I identified with Kate Jackson, actually.
But I'm sad that Farrah had such a horrible fight with cancer.

I always ended up as Sabrina but I spent years with a blow dryer in my hand trying to master the feathering. Nice tribute.

Lovely tribute, excellent writing. You captured my childhood there. Here from Kizzy's blog.

4th/5th grade...My best friend Chrissy and I were both blonde, therefore we both felt righteously entitled to play Farrah's role when playing Charlie's Angels. She sometimes played the height card though, Farrah's character also being non-short, which I definitely was. Short that is. Like that somehow made her the designated Farrah in all games of CA. As if! I totally had the better feathers, Chrissy's hair being stick straight and fair as corn silk. And really, in the end, it was all about the hair wasn't it?
RIP Farrah.

Thanks, for capturing the memory, of what Farrah meant to the girls (as opposed to the boys, captured in all the newspapers). In our crowd, there was never any question who would play Farrah, because one of the group actually looked like her, enough like her, the jaw, the eyes, and the teeth (as well as the hair, which could be emulated) to be her daughter.
We've reached that scary stage, haven't we, when the icons and memories of our childhood are dying.

This was beautiful. I do remember this. I always was Sabrina and I liked it but I loved Farrah's hair. Never could master the feather.

Oh, I feel so sad aboutFarrah...she was my little brother's first love, and when he was 9, his room was a shrine to her. We lost Mitch to suicidal depression in 2007; and I feel like yesterday, I lost a piece of him all over again.
As for Charlie's Angels--am I the only Kelly Garrett in the bunch? I thought Jaclyn Smith was the complete package. Incredible beauty and brains as well. She was the one I always wanted to be.

Very nice. I was Kelly too. If there was a fourth in the bunch, she had to play Bosley.

What Larry King said about Fawcet
"TV had much more impact back in the '70s than it does today. Charlie's Angels got huge numbers every week — nothing really dominates the television landscape like that today. Maybe American Idol comes close, but now there are so many channels and so many more shows it's hard for anything to get the audience, or amount of attention, that Charlie's Angels got. Farrah was a major TV star when the medium was clearly dominant."
Cheers!

I had my perfectly straight hair 'cut like Farrah's' and looked like a shaggy mutt for the next two years.

I was always Kelly too.
For being such a beautiful, lucky woman early in her career, I never knew what strength she had until she let them film her fight with cancer.
That woman has made a change in how you see that fight, I believe. Give it all you have and even if you don't win, you can help others. Rest in Peace Farrah. I have true respect.
