It's a good thing you wore them or it really would have been an anticlimactic kind of a day.
They are lovely.
As are you.

I think the problem some employers have with coats is that having coats over the back of one's chair demonstrates a bidness's lack of adequate storage space for a coat closet (or two b/c the smokers' coats have to be separate from the non-smokers' coats!). It thus throws in their face in a "non-tidy" way, their own inability to plan for 'unplanned and unforeseen' events, such as snow or rain.

Hah! I hope that your feet are less sore today - you've made me feel better about leaving some *gorgeous* high heels on the shelf at the local goodwill. (You know you want to be fabulous like my fashionista self.) The shoes truly are gorgeous, but my feet are so untrained at walking in 3" heels, they just feel torturous.
Here's hoping everyone got their coats back w/out any mishaps.

There has been a trend starting in the '80s in Regan's America to do away with amenities for mere humans, at least mere humans who are not overlords, German or otherwise. Every redesign of an office or educational space I have seen since has done away with hooks for coats. I was flabbergasted when I interviewed at a federal facility and there was an actual coat tree in a conference room.

The coat thing drives me crazy. If I hang my coat on the coat rack, it gets stinky from either the smoky coat or the overly perfumed coat next to it.
And I'll say this in the most brotherly affectionate way I can: "I really like those shoes."

In my office, nobody uses the coat closets for coats because they a) smell bad; b) have had coats stolen from them; and c) have poorly-designed doors that are difficult to open yet impossible to keep closed.
And who is lurking behind those shoes, proving that felines don't need 3-inch heels to look glamorous?

I work at a company that saved every bit of furniture that it ever purchased which means they have an ample stock of coat trees - 100s in the warehouse. The midcentury goodness in that warehouse is mind boggling.

Makes me feel better about the craphole, mid-eighties era building I work in. Every wing on every floor has a cloakroom. Funny thing though--nobody hangs their coats in them, since each cube is fitted with a nice hook and hanger arrangement for the occupant's coat. We have so much coat space, some departments have started using the coatrooms for filing space.

I would display those shoes like sculpture they are so hot!
I certainly couldn't walk in them or anything.

Please tell me you really did use the phrase "German Overlords" to the people standing around waiting by reception.

I also work in a call center and we have tours probably once a month, sometimes more. It's so very exciting. A lot of times it's a tour to convince people they should come work with us because we're so happy and lovely and tra-la-la.
Earlier this year, we were toured by a huge company and it was very top secret (we still don't know who it was). It as so annoying because everything had to be hidden, as though the detritus of our lives would suddenly make the company see that they were actually hiring humans and not a bunch of robots.
Those shoes are very cute but I think you're insane for wearing them. I fall over if I wear anything other than flats. Sometimes even then.
