What Was It You Wanted?

Gravatar Cool and interesting and damn polite. Not enough stoushing
Are you going to do a response to his response? Though you did say you pretty much agree I guess.

Gravatar Think that about covers it. It makes me think about what I dont like bout blogging but thats a rabbit hole for another day.

Gravatar Bruce has some points (especially about Anne Kirkpatrick) but his country parochialism does show a bit.

Even with the popularity of the Festival it does take a chance with some artists. Roseanne has the name as a draw card while Jerry Douglas would be an iffy proposition (which is no reflection on Jerry's music).

Personally, I'd like to see Thommo out with a full band or the very least, his full '1000 Years of Music' crew. As much as I love his solo acoustic stuff, I'd love to see him rip on the electric with a full band.

Oops, my parochialism is showing now.

Gravatar Go Amanda. Anyways I haven't heard Elder on Andy Ford's show yet so he can't be that important.

Actually Elder's email makes me think he might be ok. I don't get to read much of him down here in music town south.

I reckon Anne is a bloody treasure and the comparisons with Rosannne are obvious (although Slim never was "drug addled" as far as I know

Gravatar This is a country blog Shaun, take your long haired catowauling metal mates elsewhere!

While on the topic of Bruce, I did go by this Sugar Hill (who incidentally are upping sticks)comp based on this review, not that I would need much convincing to buy a Sugar Hill comp.

Gravatar Thommo? A long haired catowauling metaller?

Surely you jest!

Gravatar You would only be satisfied if he called for the festival to put on an elegaic multimedia song cycle based on the coming of age experiences of Bon Scott.

Gravatar My comment above was but an odd fragment of what I wrote. When I then tried to make another comment to post the whole lot it it told me NO - I had "too many connections". weird.

Gravatar One can only dream.

Gravatar The Bon Scott Ring Cycle by Circus Oz with The Necks and Mach Pelican starring Iggy Pop as Bon, Molly Meldrum as Angus. Produced, funded and scripted by Shaun Cronin.

Gravatar OK, so now I think Bruce Elder should explain why someone born (sadly) without a Dylan-gene is allowed/has the temerity to hog reviews of His Bobness in my local newspaper when the Never Ending Tour comes to town?

Gravatar Molly is a bit tall for Angus don't you think? As for the funding, isn't that what the guvmint is for?
