Your analysis is probably correct. I'll never know for sure, because no way would I knowingly pay money to see a movie with Sean Penn in it. I wouldn't even sit through one on TV.

I saw the Interpreter and thought it was awesome. There were no liberal talking points at all.

Do you hear liberals complaining when Arnold or Clint habe a new release? Clint's Million Dollar Baby was awesome.

Politics aside, Sean Penn is an amazing actor. Sure, it's subjective, but you've gotta admit it. Have you not seen Mystic River?

I'm always baffled by the number of closed-minded conservatives who won't do or see something because a liberal is involved.

The Interpreter was two hours of fun. A nice political thriller that, although shot in the UN, isn't too heavy on UN politics.

The new Manchurian Candidate was also great, although certainly not on par with the classic original. The idea of a corrupt corporation brainwashing a candidate is pretty scary...and not all that implausible. Sure, it was very heavy on the liberal side, but entertaining nonetheless. The faux-corporation in that film was clearly intended to mimic a Halliburton-like company. Denzel Washington's performance was pretty strong.

The Day After Tomorrow sucked. There was no damn climax! The action in the middle was good, but no great ending.

I have seen Mystic River, and thought Sean Penn sucked. I think he's hugely overrated. And I usually don't shy away from liberals in the arts, as its damn impossible to do. This one just screamed liberal agenda.

And I really don't like actors/performing artists who use their place in society to talk about politics. On either side.
