Republican Chuck Hagel had a great quote in a New York Times interview this weekend. He said at least democrats don't lie when it comes to spending like republicans do.
I'm a liberal who openly acknowledges a societal need for taxation and spending. And I recognize that money needs to be spent on certain things. Republicans would rather toot the horns of no taxation and tax-refunds to a stupidly moronic nation than to tell them the truth.
As I've always said: Liberals may be tax and spend, but conservatives are hopelessly spend and spend and spend, with no accounting of the funds needed for the spending.
